Babies Today's MomsTalk Archive
January, 2000 (Part 2)

Greetings ladies and babies!!

I can't believe I made it back here so quickly. I can get used to this!! The horses were so good this morning that I was done feeding and fence repairing by 6 am!!!

Kat is sleeping in her playpen now. She outgrew the bassinet attachment a while ago, and was sleeping with me. When I went out to feed, I'd build walls around her and turn the nonitor on to hear if she woke (there's a monitor in each barn, too). BUT, she can now climb over the walls and enjoys it so, she just goes at it without a sound. Mommy's instincts have gotten me to her before disaster, but once was enough!! We haven't the room or the $$ for a crib, but this seems to be working fine. Ah, peace of mind!

On to personals...

Lynn> You hit home with you mention of magazines. I keep every horse magazine that comes in, because I know I'll need the barn tips or training tips. Unless they'e indexed, though, I'd never have a prayer of finding the article. I know this...and they're all still here! I hope having your tonsils out is the answer to your troubles. It is a pain being sick!

Laura> I remember He-man, though I have no idea why!!! I'm steeling myself for having to put up with BArney again. It looks like he's gonna hang in there. I guess he teaches good lessons, so I can deal with the syrup! Sesame Street is cute and funny and clever and doesn't talk down, or seem to, anyway. I've always loved it and kids get a lot out of it. We'll steer toward that one whenever possible!~~~I'm sorry about your DH's job. Mine lost his 2 weeks after Kat was born, and we had 22 horses to support. Guess where all my savings went. There are ways to cut back and PT jobs to keep something coming in. There are lots of online listings, too, where he can post his resume. My DH found his present job that way. I know monster.com is one. I can find out more if you like.

Petra> I guess I needed the controlled sleep as a baby! I am such an insomniac, I wake and can't get back to sleep. I suppose no one minds, though, because I don't cry for someone to pick me up!!~~I have a horse friend who lives near Sydney. She's trying to talk me into coming for the Olympics and watching the equestrian events with her!! I've been searching couch cushions for extra pennies!!

Chris> I don't know what to say, but thanks! I've been feeling lately that I am emotionally dead and uncaring, because I've had to harden myself around DH. He is in pain, whatever part he's played in all this, and I have to ignore it or get sucked back in. I know he's manipulating, using his pain and saying how horrid it is I'm so cold. I, with the therapist's help, look at it as a new strength. I can keep on my necessary path this way. It's obvious, too, it's reserved just for dealings with DH. I'm still gushing over Kat and quite open, caring and fun around my step-daughter. Anyway, your support means a lot to me.~~ I truly hope the best for Kaleb, and for you! My son had heart surgery at 3 days of age, and he was 5 weeks early. I'm acquainted with the anxieties associated with hospitals, though ours was as positive an experience as it could have been. I fervently hope you're all spared this, and I'm here if you want to talk. *S*

Misseye> I do think Cam's old enough to feel he's in an unfamiliar place. WE took a 2-week road trip with Kat when she was 6 weeks and her sleep patterns were all messed up. She was fussy for the first few days as well. Now, her sleep patterns may change, but she adapts well. I think your mommy instincts are right on with this!!~~~I made all my son's baby food, and Kat's, too. I had an organic garden, so I picked fresh veggies, steamed them. blended them with water and poured it into ice cube trays. When frozen, I put them in zip-lock freezer bags and needed only to pop out a cube and microwave it! Very easy. I don't do meat, so I'm not sure if it can be done the same way.

Tiffanie> Hi! Kat is the queen of earwax. We do use Q-tips, but ONLY on the outer part. If I can't "pick" out the rest with my fingers, I have to live with it!! I don't want to risk jabbing too deeply or getting fluids in there. I'll be looking for any other tips, too, like an earwax magnet!!

Take care everyone!!

Cyndi here. Well ladies, I guess I jinxed myself by saying that Michael was sleeping so great, and no Tylenol etc. The last two nites have been BRUTAL! Friday nite I got 2hours of uninterrupted sleep, and last nite wasn't much better. Poor little guy. this teething thing must really be painful. He would't suck on his fingers, or soother or anything, just gnaw on my poor boobies! Waah. He is much happier now that he has had a good nap. I even got to get some nice close up pix this morning while he was quietly playing on the bed. Now he is giggling while daddy feeds him squish! I love those sounds.

Well, I am gonna do my hair, and get rolling. Michael and I are taking the car and heading of to Namma's place.

KathieG - It's so nice to see you sounding so up! I am glad that things are falling into place for you, and that you are feeling healthier about it all. I am sure that Kat will benefit from your feelings of freedom. Is Kat having lots of pain with the teething? Michael is now.
Hey, you are here again! Yes, I do the wall building on our bed too. I am sure I won't be able to for long either. My sister uses her playpen for naps all the time. I dont have room for one of those though either? Don't know what I am going to do. I see your note to Missye about not doing meat, but I have read that I can. I am not ready to do meat yet, but I will be!

Missye - Yes, I am making my own babyfood. I usually shop at the organic farm near us, and if I make my own food for Michael, I know exactly what is in it. For the baby rice cereal, I just cook the rice with extra water, like one cup rice to 5 cups water. Cook much longer than normal so it goes mushy. Then I blender it (as I use brown rice). I have the tupperware covered ice cube trays, and freeze the cereal in there. Each cube measures out to be 1tbsp. I just pop them into a freezer bag. I always know how much is there. I have also steamed carrots and blended them. I have done two types of squash, sweet potato, applesauce, etc. It works nicely. Takes little time at all, and I know the quality of what my baby is getting. There are a couple of good books out there too. One is called 'Feed me I'm yours', and another is 'Superbaby Foods'. The icecube trays also are great for storing expressed breastmilk. Each cube is 1/2 ounce.

Tiffanie - Hee Hee about the hockey song. My DH is certain that Michael loves to watch hockey. Like he gives him an option!! I think he loves the music that pops up between plays! Ha! NHL 2000. Sheesh, you'd think our DH's were separated at birth!!! Does he play online too?

Chris - I like that nurses comment about the rooming in babies being more independant. That is what I have read over and over, that if you prevent them from feeling lonely and scared when they are little, that they will know you are there for them and therefore develop their own independance.
We are doing the family bed in our house, but Michael will nap on his own too. I just love to nap with him, and usually do so once a day to get caught up on my sleep!

hugs to all,

Hi Everyone! I will attempt some personals. It may take me a couple of tries to finish them all.

Jayme - How often does your DH have to leave for a month at a time? I would go crazy without my DH that long.

Cyndi - Congrats on Micheal sitting so well. I can hardly wait until Makenna reaches that milestone. I wish my mom would come fold some laundry. That is my least favorite chore. Why is AD not posting anymore?

Kari - Welcome and congrats on Gustavo!

Petra - Welcome!

Sonata - Welcome back! Sorry to hear your trip was not that great. LOL about your return and kissing your pillow. Hope all of you will be feeling better soon.

Barb- Sorry about your review but it sounds like you handled it well. How long until your boss leaves?

Chris - I can't believe how big Kaleb is!!! What a big boy! Makenna is only 14lbs.

Kathie G. - It is good to hear from you. I love the beach too. I have looked up some neat things to do in Vegas. I need to have a positive attitude and be grateful for the opportunity for a vacation.

Martha - Hey fellow penny pincher. I do nickel slots too. They last a lot longer although it is harder to get those free drinks down at the nickel slots. I think Mary Beth will love teletubbies but you may want to pull your hair out after a couple hours watching.

Missye - So sorry Cam is not sleeping well for you. That is the worst...no sleep. I don't have any advice, but we have alot of great moms who do.

Jenni - Did I read on the front page that Nicolas got his teeth on X-mas? Congrats! DH had a good birthday. I splurged and got him a nice watch. I am finally feeling 100% again.

Connie - Don't kids do the cutest things. Hope her teeth come in fast. I have been to Tuscon a couple of times for the Gem show they have every Feb. I really like Tuscon that time of year.

Jenn - I hope Lizzy gets over her ear infection soon. Those are the worst. My DS suffered through many of them. I wish Makenna would take her medicine so well. It is such a battle to keep her from spitting it out.

Laura - Congrats on Corban walking! Hope you are making some progress on the sleeping problem. So sorry to hear about DH's job. I hope he finds another one soon.

Rebekah - Sorry but I am not good at giving advice. Hopefully someone here can help you. Come back anytime.

Suzi - I have looked up Vegas on the net. We are staying at the Venetian. DH's boss tried to get us rooms at the Bellagio but they didn't have enough. They have an art gallery in the Bellagio that I plan on going to. We have also made reservations at Delmonico's Steak House. My husband loves Emeril. I think we will have a good time. Our Hotel looks great. The rooms are 700 sq. ft. with a beatiful marble tub and big living room. I will definately be spending some quality time in that tub. You said you are a travel agent. Do you get to travel much?

Romaine - We will have fun in Vegas. My sister and mom went last year. They rode a couple of rollercoasters when they were there. I love roller coasters and plan on doing that if they are open. How is little Mya? BTW, thanks for the pics you sent. Your girls are beatiful.

Darilynn - Good luck on getting some sleep. What is up with your neighbors?

BevB - Hopefully I can keep my DH under control and out of a gambling frenzy. I am giving him a daily allowance. His boss is giving every couple $600 spending money. I am definately taking my half.

Lynn - Take care of yourself!! You don't want to get Strep again. I can't believe you had such an awful doctor. I think you should tell your regular ped. about your experience.

WOW!! I finally did it. This post was due to Makenna taking a decent nap...Finally. She has been so cranky today. Yesterday I took my DS to see Stuart Little. It was a cute movie and only an hour and a half. I saw the Talented Mr. Ripley last weekend. Way too much violence for me. My mom and I walked out of the movie stunned.
I really want to see the Green Mile but I am not sure I can manage a 3 hour movie. It is so hard finding time to get things done around the house. My DH has been so happy today. His football team won yesterday. It was quite an exciting game with a thrilling ending. For those of you who watch football, you know the game.

I better go. No time to proof this post so please forgive me for any spelling errors.

Happy Sunday to all. I just took a nap which I hardly ever do and I feel pretty good now. We had a game night for the young couples at our church last night and I didn't get to bed until much later than I usually do. But Zack went to bed at the normal time and he woke me up bright and early. Oh the days of sleeping in...! :)

Chris - Thanks for the Q-tips tip! I'll look for them.

Kathie G - I use my finger some too but didn't know if there was a better way and I was afraid to use the Q-tips! Isn't it amazing what we'll do as mommies? :)

Cyndi - My DH just found out the joys of playing NHL 2000 online. When one of my best friends and I talk on the phone her hubby and my hubby play on-line. It is neat, though! :) Maybe they are twins separated! :) Or just plain old hockey fanatics! :)

Well, I better go check on my sleeping peanut. He's about due up. Have a great rest of the weekend to you!

Hi ladies. Wow, it took such a long time to read posts. I hate being gone for so long! Max had a good appt. He weighs 16lbs 11oz, and is 25.25in long. The doc said we have to keep an eye on his crooked head, and if it's still not symmetrical at the 6mos check up we will need a 2nd opinion. I hope it fixes itself. His head was so perfect when he was born.

So I don't know if you remember when we took Max to the mall, and some store told us if they could practice on Max they would give us a free 8x10. Well we were there for 1hour, and the one pic they gave us was of Max with his eyes closed. I was so irritated. Not a good way to earn customers.

On to personals, some of these might be old, sorry.

Suzi- Alex wouldn't wake up if the house was on fire. I don't know how they do it. Max moves and I hear it!

Chris- I looked, and the last time consumer reports evaluated car seats was 1/94. I have a feeling they will do it again soon, they just did strollers last month.

Charline- Happy Birthday!

Michelle- Make sure you go to the buffet at Bellagio, and check out the shops. The buffet is amazing! Totally worth standing in line for it! Green Mile is great, but long! I didn't realize Mr. Ripley was that violent. I am dying to go to a movie.

Jayme- They just changed the schedule for hep shots. Owen probably got one in the hospital, so he'd be done by 6mos. Max didn't get his first until 2mos. It's a new change.

Cyndi- We made up for nursing this weekend. I only gave him one bottle in four days. I'm going to cut out pumping in the pm at work It's too much for me, and I think I can still make enough milk for him that he'll only have to have one formula bottle a day.

Sonata- Welcome back! We missed you!

Kathie- When are you moving. You are a very strong person. You are doing the best thing for Kat!

Martha- I know the APA (I think that's their initials) don't reccomend tv for babies younger than two. Max loves looking at the tv, but I don't want to encourage it. I grew up on Sesame Street. I think it's paced well for little ones. The tellytubbies scare me.

Missye- 11 weeks old is still very young. You can maybe get a little more sleep if you keep the night time feedings just feedings, no playing. Do it in a dark room, and don't talk to him. If he wants to play put him back in his crib or basinette and leave him there. Hang in there. Don't be discouraged by people asking if he's sleeping through.

Jenni- They should be learning English. My partner is an idiot, and planned every Wed. and had a teacher with no experince teach. So they had a teacher only 2days a week. don't get me started. Only 4more mos.

Connie- The next time I'm down (probably next month) we should get together. My mom is off of Craycroft and Sunrise!

Jenn- Happy 6mos to Lizzy!

Laura- Focus on one sleep issue at a time. The rest will come.

Rebbekah- Max nurses every 2-3hours and we've gone all over with him. You can do it!

Romaine- I need to get an exersauser. Mya sounds adoreable!

Darilynn- I'm sure you know this, but it might help the drip if you put the crib at an angle.

Bev- Kyle sounds adoreable in his exersaucer. These kids are just too smart!

Lynn- Take care of yourself! Hugs to you!

Petra- I might try that controlled crying.

Tiffanie- See above with our picture headaches. Better luck for all of us next time!

I have to go take care of DH and Max. Love to you all!

Well, we've got good news on the homefront! Lizzy is in recovery. Her ear doesn't seem to be bothering her anymore, and she's much more like herself, even eating again(more than before, I might add)! How do some of you mommies feel about walkers? I think they're ok, as long as you don't leave the child in for too long, or unsupervised. Lizzy started going in hers this week(she got one from "Santa"). She seems to love it. Obviously she doesn't go anywhere in it yet, but she loves to play in it. I don't leave her in it for more than 15min at a time, and when she acts cranky I take her out. I don't think it does her any harm.

Lizzy sat up all by herself in her baby bath tonight! Another milestone for us! She's growing up so fast, right before our very eyes.

Oh know! DH just reminded me, I forgot to give lizzy her meds tonight. I'll have to give her them when she wakes up at 1am looking for her pacifier.

Anyway...

Laura Ellis-maybe Corban's teething, or has a cold. Sorry to hear about DH's job, you're in my prayers.

Rebekah-I can see how you're concerned about traveling. We're driving to SC(16hr drive) in March when Lizzy's about 8mos old. I'm not b/f'ing her anymore, but we'll still have to stop often to feed her. Now she wants to eat 4, sometimes 5x's a day. Hopefully by then it'll be less. We're not worried about it, though. I've been told by many that this is the best time to go traveling, they sleep most of the way. So I suggest, go for it!

Lynn & Lexie-Welcome to the "teething club!" Lizzy doesn't have any teeth, yet, but she's working on it, I can feel them under her gums.

Kathie G-thanxs for the tip about the ear massage, I'll try it. I hope she doesn't get another one, especially since I forgot her medicine tonight. I didn't mean to, she was just so exausted tonight, and went to bed earlier than usual.

Missye-Lizzy's infection started as a cold. Last Sunday she had a high temp, but no fever. By Monday morning it was 101.3, so DH and I took her to the Dr and they diagnosed the ear infection. Yes, it is a nightmare, we didn't sleep at all Sunday night(last week). Some signs to look for are fever, and ear pulling(although Lizzy hardly bothered her ears at all). You'll learn as you go, I still am!

Tiffanie-I just use a washcloth on Lizzy's ears, the dr cleans them out good when she goes for her well check-ups.

Wow! I think I'm done. That's time consuming. Goodnight everyone, hope the sleepfairy visits all of you!

Lots of Love
Jenn & Lizzy

Cyndi here again. Michael was a doll when we visited my mom this aft. I walked in, and asked her to watch our new trick. Plunked him down in the living room, and watched him smile! He sat up dandy for about 20 min before wobbling. Such a big boy. Mom got some pix.
He's still fussy, so I don't know what's going on. I keep hoping some teeth happen soon. Otherwise, I have no idea on what could be going on with him. Such a happy little guy otherwise.

Hey, anyone watch Third Watch? It was supposed to be on tonite, but it was Who wants to be a Millionaire, with Regis instead. What's with that?? Well, it gave me more time to surf!

MichelleE - Hey, if you tip the drink girl really well on the first free drink, she will keep coming to find you even in the nickle aisle! Trust me!!!Last time I went, I was getting straight shots of Cuervo Gold tequila finding their way to me, along with tequila sunrises. They don't usually get tipped in the nickle zone.

Leah - what a bummer about the photo. I had assumed it would be a very very good portrait in order to get good word of mouth going. So much for that theory.Pumping in the evening is probably the worst time you could do it. Your milk supply is it's lowest then. Mornings are great!

Ok, that's it for tonite.
hugs all around

Hi! It's Martha. Mary Beth turned 10 months old on Sunday. Seems kind of old, doesn't it? But yet, she is still my baby.

We did watch Teletubbies for about 10 minutes and she liked them. I have noticed that she is more interested in these stuffed characters - Big Bird, Teletubbies, Elmo, etc. rather than regular people.

Michelle - You're right about the free drinks at the nickel slots. Thanks for the movie tips. I will skip the Tom Ripley movie b/c I don't like too much violence, either. Did you see Sixth Sense? It was a good scarey movie without much gore.

Barb - Happy 6 months to Haley.

Charline - Happy 9 months to Hayden.

Chris - good job Kaleb for eating his cereal.

Missye - yes, I think an 11wk old baby can be upset by unfamiliar surroundings. We always take one of MB's blankets with her

Tiffanie - I use a wet wash cloth to clean the outside of MB's ears. Q-Tips makes a special q-tip for babies that is too big too fit in the ear canal. Have not tried them, though.

Leah - I did read that about no tv for kids under age two. I am not letting her watch very much. We keep the tv off all day except for occasionally watching the new Family Feud, and then I try to keep her entertained with her toys. Then at night she's in bed before we turn the tv on.

Well, take care everyone!

Good Morning Mommies and babies! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Nick is finally sleeping better, except last night he had a poopie explosion at 12:30am! YUK

Connie - Hope those top teeth break through soon.

Chris - Did you check ifurniture.com? They may have it cheaper than $129

Jenn - Happy 6 months Lizzie, hope your feeling better.

Laura - Sorry about DH's job. I hope he finds something real soon.

Suzi - Capital B'day? Whats that??

Romaine - Happy belated 4 months Mya!

Lynn - "I've just figured out Blues Clues, I'just figured out blues clues, cause we're very smart!" stuck in my head 24/7!! I can test on 1/18....I'll let ya know :0)

Jayme - I'm willing to take the risk with your 3 and my 1. Call me crazy but it could be fun!

KathieG - Yay Kat!! Nick likes to lift my poor cat by the ears!

Chris - again - Solids are so much fun aren't they?

Missy - I do the same with Nicholas. I do enjoy snuggling with him while we sleep.

Tiffanie - I use a wash cloth to get the wax monsters. Q-tip has a new one out just for babies.

Michelle - You read it right. He got the first tooth Christmas day and the second one New Years Day.

Leah - Are you going to be a SAHM? If I am pg, I will be one before the new baby comes. I'll know on 1/18!

Cyndi - 3rd Watch was moved to Mondays at 10pm :0(

Martha - Happy 10 months Mary Beth!

Ok all you ladies that are feeding solids to your babies I need some help here:) Tailer never ate cereal well and Kaleb sees the spoon, follows it with his head and then chomps like Jaws when it gets in his mouth. You barely touch his lip and the mouth is open like a bird. He's already 17 lbs, so how much do I give him? I worry that he might turn out like my nephew (4yrs old, 90lbs and 4ft tall)if I feed him too much. I have given him the 7 tsps that dr suggested twice and he has practically licked to bowl clean and then nurses like crazy for the next few hours. Also since his shots he's been pooping everytime he toots and hasn't slept the whole night unless he's close to a boob to sneek a snack. Is this another growth spurt?????

Leah: I found a consumer report and carseat review that was done 12/99 but was mostly personal opinion. It said that alot of the up to 30 lb carseats now go up to 35lbs rear facing. I will keep looking though. I finally found a Babies r Us that carries the Alpha Omega and I hope if I go to get it they will let me try it in my vehicle before I spend $130 on it.

Well ladies I have to feed or change Kaleb again he's calling. Hugs to all.

Just a quick note to Chris

Nicholas gets 1/4 c cereal about 3x a day (breakfast lunch and dinner) plus some fruit, veggie or dinner. He is down in formula to about 26 oz a day with the cereal and food it brings him to about 32oz a day. My ped said let him eat until he tells me he's done (usually turning his head away, starts spitting it out) Hope it helps.

Happy Monday Ladies!
I guess I havn't been able to post the last couple days 'cause I was trying to read while I fed Sam & never got back to post.
Here are two links to places that rate baby items & specifically car seats.
http://www.jpma.org/public/con-frame-set.html
http://carpoint.msn.com/advice?article=420
I also believe you can still get that highly rates one thru Midas Mufflers for cost then when you're done w/ it you get the equivalent amt in car service coupons.
I myself am wondering what to do inbetween. I have an infant seat/carrier that's rated to22 or 25lbs then a highback that starts at 30. I do have DS's old seat that will rear face to 30 so I guess even though it's 7yrs old I'll use it to bridge the lbs between the other two.
Kathy & Kat: wow you're brave! I hope you can find a way to keep your horse with you. What about the dog ?Do you get him too ?
Not sure how much more I'll get to type. Sam's having a fussy day & I hear him revving up again~ I just fed him a little bit ago...Oh well I'll have to try & post again later.

Good Morning Everybody! Not much new here. I had
a little meltdown on Fri. p.m. when I found out that my dh had to go to dinner with his boss from
Colorado and that he was going to have to work all
day on Sat. I thought he as going to be home this
weekend to help me do some major cleaning and to
watch the kids while I ran a ton of errands. I'm not sure why it affected me the way it did, but I
think I was just tired and feeling overwhelmed. After crying for a while, my 6 year old asked me what was wrong. I tried to tell her and her response was "That's nothing to cry about!) Boy did I feel stupid! Anyway, Danielle is sitting up like a trooper. I went to Sam's Club last night and she sat up in the shopping cart for an
hour and had a blast. When we got home she sat
on the floor for at least 30 minutes playing with a toy she got for Christmas before she fell over.
Still no crawling though. She just goes around in
circles.

Now to the personals:

Jenn-Glad to hear Lizzy is doing better. No ear infections for Danielle yet. The other three all had them by now. Guess i should be real thankful. As far as walkers go, I used one with my first three as exersaucers didn't exist. I know there are a lot of dangers associated with them, but I think that as long as you're not near any steps or anything that can tip her over, you're ok. They also say that they delay walking, but I think that's only if you use them constantly. I used mine for feeding and snacks and when I just needed a break and my children did fine.

Rebekah-we drove all the way to Breckenridge, CO
from Tucson in July with all four kids. Danielle was only 2 months old and she did terrific. I
think it would be even easier at 8 months as
they can have some solids and also they are easier
to distract and can play with their toys a little.
Go and have fun.

Cindi-Hi! Third Watch is on Tonite.

Darilyn-I hope Caedence is doing better. Danielle
had a runny nose last week and now it's Matt. Kathy started sounding like she is coming down with a croupy cough last night. I think someone in
this house has had a runny nose since Sept. or Oct. I'm sick of it, but I won't complain because the flu is at epedemic proportions here in Tucson, and the hospitals are actually turning people away because there are no beds.

Jayme-I think one of the places we stayed must have been near where you live because I remember a sign that said Dole. Is it near a huge field of palm trees?

Lynn-how did the house cleaning go? I thought we were going to do that too, but my dh had to work so I did the best I could with four kids underfoot. I did a lot to little things, but not the big stuff. Maybe next week. I don't know how much longer my hubby will have to work on the weekends. I'm not used to this and it's starting to get to me. I think it will make me appreciate having him around a lot more.

Chris-Congratulations to Kaleb on his cereal. Danielle is loving hers.

Missye-It doesn't matter how many kids you have, you never get tired of watching them accomplish new things for the first time. Everytime I see Danielle do something new I am so thankful to God for the miracle she is.

Tiffanie-Hi! I do have some professional pictures
of the kids that have come out pretty cute, but I think that most of my favorite ones are ones I took myself on the spur of the moment. Sometimes we get so hyper about getting the perfect picture that we ruin the fun of it. I'm sure the next one
will get a smile.

Michelle-Where do you live? I was born in Tucson and would you believe that I have never been to the gem and mineral show? People come here from all over the world for this show and I can't even drive across town! I think the tents will start going up anyday now. It's such a huge undertaking. I know that I can't have any company in Feb or March because there is not a hotel room to be found.

Leah-I know exactly where your mom lives. I was born and raised here and the home I grew up in is down in town more near Craycroft and Broadway. I don't get to that part of town much anymore as my parents have both passed away and we rent their house out. Your mom must have an awesome view of the city skyline. We do from our second floor
bedroom.

Martha-Happy 10 month birthday to Mary Beth! Give her a big hug for me.

Laura-I was so sorry to hear about your dh's job.
I was in the same boat in August. Thankfully, my
dh was given a great severance package and got an even better job in 6 weeks so we actually came out ahead. Because of his position this has happened to us several times since we've been married and I just believe that God has something better in store for you. It's hard and you get on each others nerves when they're home a lot more, but just keep believing that there is an awesome job out there just for him! I'll be
praying for you.

Well, I'd better get things going around here. Danielle has been lying of the floor squeeling with delight during this whole time. It's so nice
when they are content.

Have a great day everyone!

Thank you Jenni for telling me how much Nicholas gets, that helps alittle. Since he's only gotten cereal twice I guess tonight I will fix more and see how much he eats.

Also I went to the web sites that Suzi suggested in her post about carseats and I printed out a list of web site address specifically geared to carseat info. If any one wants it just email me and I will send them to you.

Thanks Suzi:)

Hugs to all.

Good afternoon everyone,

Thanks to all of you for the good wishes and prayers regarding my DH and his search for a job. He got started early this morning and is still out looking. I have faith that things are going to work out great. Thanks for the continued prayers.

Corban is 11 months old today. I can not believe that my baby is almost one. We had two new babies in the nursery at church yesterday and it made me realize how much he has changed in the last 11 months. Corban crawled for the first time yesterday. He has been walking fairly good since Christmas and has done the GI crawl for a long time but yesterday was the first time he moved on all fours. It was so cute. My oldest never did crawl and I was kind of expecting that Corban was going to be the same way. He is sleeping better and the crying spells are getting shorter. This morning he woke up at about 4:00 and was cooing and talking to himself, cried about 5-7 minutes, talked and cooed some more and then fell asleep. I hope the crying when we first lay him down continues to decline. It is so hard to listen to him. Yesterday every time we took him in his room to change a diaper, change clothes, etc he started crying. It was like he was saying, "Please do not lay me down again". Well he is waking up from his nap so I had better close.

Here are a few personals

Missye - The notepad is with your accessories. Go to start, then programs, then accessoreis, and finally notepad. You can type your notes and then cut and paste when you are ready to post. Thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers. I think all babies know when they are in unfamiliar places. He will adjust and everyone else will too. Don't worry about their opinios because you are the mom and you know best.

Kathie - Thanks for the support. We're not very worried about the money as much as the benefits. He works with the parks and rec league part time and I can usually do more work. It is the benefits that we need. I am sure that things will work out for us. Thanks again for your support. I will have him look at those sites.

Jenn - I love walkers. Corban is my third child to use them. I do not think they make the walk any faster and I had one walk at 9 months, one at 13 months and one at 10 months, but do think they enjoy the mobility. My oldest and Corban both always liked to be on the move. The new walkers are a lot better than the one I had with my first two. Just be careful around stairs and doorways and let the child be the key to how long they want to stay in them. I feed Corban babyfood when he is in his as he usually does not like to be strapped in the high chair. Like I said all three of my boys loved their walker. Hope Lizzy enjoys hers.

Cyndi - Third Watch has moved to Monday's at 10:00 I think. I love the show but have a hard time staying up for the whole thing.

Connie - Thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement. My DH has been hitting the streets all day today and I am sure that things will work out. He lost his job about 2 months before we were married and was laid off once and everytime the Lord has provided equal or better jobs. I know that He is in control and will take care of us. He got a decent severance package so we are okay for now. Thanks again for your prayers.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time to visit this site and I must say I am rather enjoying everyones stories. I have a 9 month old baby girl, my first child, and she is so precious to me. I do have a few questions if anyone could give me their opinions on them it would be greatly appreciated. Firstly, getting her to sleep, I was having a hard time since she was so used to the swing, however I decided to break her from that. Then she started to accept being rocked and sang to, not always however. Recently I have been trying to get her to have less naps during the day and it does seem to be working better, when she is ready for a nap she goes readily. But I would like to consider just putting her in her crib and letting her fall asleep on her own but don't really know how to go about it, I don't think I could handle crying for too long? Any tips or infor. on how long I should let her stay there crying??? Also, I am wondering if I am spoiling her by having her with me lots and spending lots of time with her, she doesn't like her playpen much?? She isn't walking yet, but pulls up everywhere and holds on with one hand and goes from one piece of furniture to the other, should she be walking by now? It seems like everyone is always asking me "is she crawling yet?" as if she is abnormal or something??? Anyway, hope everyone has a great day, I will check in later for any responses. One more question, does anyone know any site where there is a good chat room to talk directly with other parents? Thanks

hey everyone! im new to this site and have been reading through all the postings. I have a question Im hoping maybe someone can help me with. Rebekah is 5 mos old and we had a completely natural home water birth. Never during the course of my pregnancy were any doctors or medicines, apart from what I took from the healthfood store, introduced. Bekka has been to the dr only once and that was for shots. She has never been ill, but recently she has been having trouble going poo. Her bowels dont move for a couple of days. She is obviously uncomfortable and I can hear her tummy rumble. The other night she threw up, so I know that since it aint coming out the bottom, its gotta come out someway. I tried the baby laxative, but it didnt affect her. Ive tried prunes, pears.... and Im wondering if anyone has been successful with any type of natural remedy for this.

thanks for any help you can give and I hope to get to know you all better.

Hi everyone. I’m at work right now. I figure this is the only time I can get on and not feel guilty! I’m going to see how it goes today with only pumping once here. Hopefully Max won’t be starving by the time I get to pick him up. He’s starting to get impatient when my milk lets down. Hopefully this won’t be the end to b/feeding for us. He likes getting the milk in the bottle right away. It’s not like it takes all that long. Hopefully I can catch him before he’s too hungry.

I had been asking Alex about an exersaucer, and apparently he bought one online without telling me about it. What a great guy! It’s so nice to see how much he loves being a dad. It just makes me so happy sometimes.

On to personals: (and then I can go get my guy!)
Jenn- Talk to your ped. about walkers. I asked if there were any dangerous toys out there and my doc said they were okay if they were on the market. Just be careful around stairs.

Cyndi- I can't remeber does Michael have any teeth yet? Hope you all get some rest soon!

Martha- It amazes me how they have figured out what babies like so well. I can't wait for Max to watch Sesame street. I loved it as a kid.

Jenni- Good luck! I'm going to stay home after this semseter. I will probably do something out of the house, but I'm not going to be teaching anymore. I can't wait!

Chris- My doc said not to start solids until 6mos because they don't know how to tell when they are full before then. I would ask your doc. It sounds like Kaleb is certainly ready for solids! I was wondering about a growth spurt too. Max was up at 12, 2, and 5 last night to eat. That hasn't happened in a long time!

Connie- Did you goto Rincon? What year did you graduate? I went to Tucson High and Sahuaro. (lived by Sahuaro). What a small world!

Laura- Trust your intiuiton about DH's job. It's amazing how everything always works out!

Tirza- I read it's normal for b/fed babies to not go every day. You only need to worry if the consisitency of the poop is hard and pebbely.

Okay, I need to go get my munchkin. I have a new pic if anyone wants to see him email me. Have a good night!

Hi Everyone! Suzi and Jacob here. I hope you all had a nice weekend. No fevers to date. Thank goodness. Jacob is still not sleeping though. Hopefully that will change real soon. I'm so tired! Anyway, cute thing.....Jacob offered me his binky last night. I had given it to him and then he took it out of his mouth and tried to put it in mine. That was sweet. He is learning to share. MIL story.....she showed up at my house unannounced yesterday and I had to sit there while she told me that if Jacobs ears didn't clear soon, he would go deaf. Also, if I would take his socks off then he could probably crawl better. Why do they insist upon making all of these comments and suggestions that are completely crazy?!?!? Oh well, I pray for strength!! Anyway, here are some personals.

Romaine, Jacob loves the "throw the toys off the Excersaucer and watch Mommy pick them up" game!!

Cyndi, I'm glad that Michaels teething pain seems to be getting better. How are you making baby cereal?? BTW, I loved the Monster In Law thing!!! OOPS!!! :o I just read further down, I hope he starts to sleep again and that darn teething pain stops soon!!

Darilynn, sending sleep fairy vibes your way but please send her back when you are done because NO ONE in my house is sleeping either!!

Lynn, I'm so very proud of your new Computer Hacker status. HA HA.. Geez, I thought I was the only one with the magazine fetish. I keep old Parents Magazines thinking that I will refer back to them but guess what? I never refer back to them. I hope you feel better soon. I was so healthy during my pregnancy but ever since I had Jacob, I feel like I'm sick every other week. I woke up this morning with a little cough. YUCK!!

Jayme, Maybe I should try........what? Your message was incomplete.

Kathy, WOW, what a scare with the stairs!!!

Laura, So sorry to hear about your Husbands job. Keep your chins up!! Things will look up. Happy b-day to Corban!!

Chris, glad to hear that Kaleb took his cereal good!!

Missye, Don't feel bad, I put Jacob in bed with us too when he wakes up for an early breakfast.

Tiffany, There are alot of ear infections, aren't there?!?!? Have you seen those new Johnson and Johnsons, "Baby" Q-Tips? I am taking Jake back to the Ped on Friday for his follow-up. I will ask about those as well as about what you use to clean ears. I don't know either.

Michelle, I used to travel alot but the industry has changed so much in the 10 years I have been in it. Me and Dh did, however, get to cruise on the brand new Disney Cruise line for really cheap though. That is few and far between.

Leah, I am the same way!! If Jacob sighs, I hear it. Men are just TURKEYS!!!! I hope all goes well with Max's head. I'm sure it will.

Jenn, I think walkers are fine as long as the babies are supervised. Congrats on Lizzy sitting up!!

Martha, Happy birthday to Mary Beth!!!

Jenni, Washington D.C. It's halfway between here and NJ. HA HA. Gotta love those midnight poopie explosions!!

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Hi ladies & babies, Charline & Hayden here. Hayden just turned 9 months old yesterday. I can't believe how fast time is flying when you have a little one. Hayden had his 9 month dr. appointment today. He weighs 17lbs 9oz and is 29 in long. He is still my long and lean little guy. He was so good when the dr. gave him his shot. He also had to get a blood test where they check for lead at 9 months. I was about to cry that they had to take blood out of his little arm. He was so good and did cry a little. But, he smiled at the technicians and tilted his head with a little smirk on his face. That's my little flirt for ya.
He was given the go ahead to start on table foods. I'm a little nervous of what exactly to give him since he doesn't have any teeth yet.
Anyone have any words of wisdom for me?

Michelle E-I'm glad that Makenna is feeling better. That's great that she took such a good nap for you.

Jayme-You do have me beat on how far your mom is. At least my mom can drive to come visit Hayden. Owen will probably start crawling when you least expect it. He is only 7 months old. Hayden is now 9 months and just started crawling recently.

Cyndi-Yay for Micheal sitting! He will probably become mobile soon. Hayden would get to where he wanted to go by rolling. He has just now begun to crawl, but will still roll if he wants to get to somewhere quickly.

Sonata-Glad to have you back! I hope that Eray is feeling better soon.

KathieG-Thanks for the Birthday wishes. Yay for Kat standing by herself!

Martha-Thanks for the Birthday wishes. Hayden loves Big Bird also. Happy 10 month birthday to Mary Beth!

Welcome Missye & Camden!

Jenni-Thanks for the Birthday wishes. I just hung out with my little guy on my B'day. DH and I are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate. My SIL is coming to babysit. I hope that Nick is sleeping better for you now and that he didn't get a cold.

Connie-Danielle sounds so cute waving and smacking her lips!

Chris-I will keep Kaleb in my thoughts and prayers that he won't need surgery. Thanks for the Q-tip tip. I was wondering about that also and didn't know that they sold that at Walmart.

Jenn-Happy Belated 6 month Birthday to Lizzy! That's great that she is feeling better now.

Laura Ellis-Thanks for the birthday wishes. It sounds like Corban is starting to sleep better for you. Sorry to hear that your DH lost his job. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Suzi-Thanks for the Birthday wishes.

Romaine-Thanks for the Birthday wishes.

Darilynn-I hope that Caedence is feeling better and that everyone has gotten more sleep.

Lynn-Thanks for the birthday wishes. Lexie is sweetie giving kisses and burying her head in your neck. i thought that Hayden was doing the same thing and then I realized that he uses me as a human tissue by rubbing his nose on my shoulder.(lol!) I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Tiffanie-Thanks for the congrats to Hayden. Your question was not stupid about the ear wax build up. I was wondering the same thing and just use a wash cloth right now.

Leah-Thanks for the birthday wishes. Max seems to growing very nicely.

Welcome Chevon F! I also have a 9 month old . Hayden has just started crawling and only pulls himself up to a kneeling position. I think that every baby is different and I try to ignore when people ask me questions about Hayden's mobility.

Welcome Tirza & Rebekah!

Sorry this is so long. I haven't checked in since Thursday and you ladies have been very busy. Have a good night. My DH is taking me out to dinner to celebrate my birthday. My mouth is watering thinking about having a steak!mmm

Help!!! I can't get my3 month old to sleep in his crib and to fall asleep on his own. He is still in our room in a swing at night (not in motion, of course). We must hold him and walk with him or I must nurse him to sleep. We've tried, but he screams until we pick him up. How do I transition him? Experts say don't let him cry for more than 10 min. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!!!

Thank you!

Hey All! Hope you all had an uneventful weekend. We took my Mom to the doc on Friday and out to eat afterward. (Prayers/thoughs would be appreciated, they are going to run a test for cancer on the 22nd.)

Sorry not being here on the weekend I am so far behind on personals. Not having a computer at home really stinks. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Guess I will share a few new things Anna is doing...
She is getting to be quite the lovey, she loves grabbing your face with both hands and pulling it to hers to give big wet baby kisses.

First, I have to say that DH loves to sing "If your happy and you know it, Clap your hands" to her. On Sunday, we were in Babies R Us and she woke up unexpectedly while I was looking at a cute dress for her, and I heard da, la ma, yeah, hi, and when I looked at her she was just singing away (in baby talk) and trying to clap her hands. She gave me the biggest smile and had another lady just laughing at the site. Guess I have a performer on my hands.

DH went to the Metallica concert last week and brought Anna a present from the show---A black onesie with Metallica in baby writing and the metallica symbol head holding a baby rattle. I have to admit, it is sort of cute.

Anna has realized that she has men completely smitten, she was smiling at one of the men from church and before he knew it, (and I knew it) she had his finger and tried to eat it up. She wouldn't let go, just kept smiling at him.

She has also learned that she is going to be shy and not talk, laugh or smile when in a big group of people. She didn't want to be in church with me so we camped out and watched the close circuit service in the Mothers room. (dont want to put her in the nursery just yet)

That is all for now, talk to you all soon.

Hugs and kisses! and from Anna Drooly kisses that will last for about 20 minutes of moisture.... heeheehee

Hi all- Jayme here-

I went to the Pampered Chef Spring Regional on Saturday- I got a sneak peek at the new products that will be available to customers starting in March. It was a blast. There’s new stoneware….

Earwax- My doctor told me to buy these over the counter ear drops that make the wax come loose and float out. The only problem is, I keep forgetting to look for them when I am out.

Kathi- Yea for Kat for standing! Owen will stand for awhile if I stand him up to something, but he’s very unsteady still.

Lynn- When you are done with your house, could you please come here? I will keep an on Lexie for you….. My DH is such a major pack rat- I think maybe next time he is in the field, I will have a yard sale.
I hope you start feeling better soon- you have sure had more than your share of illnesses lately!

Laura- Oh no- I am so sorry. I hope your DH finds something soon. I am sure you will be all right- you have such a positive outlook on it. I do have an idea for you and Corban’s naps- have you tried putting him in a play pen close to where you work? Maybe it could take the place of the swing he’s outgrowing .

Chris- I sure know what you mean when you say that you feel like a first timer. Right now I am amazed that I ever got Ethan potty trained, now that we are attempted to start with Bubby. We definitely were looking at 2 different seats! Hopefully you will find the one you are looking for.

Missye- Don’t you just hate it when relatives that barely know your baby have all the answers? I can’t stand when they think they know your baby more that you do. About your stone- the first few times you use it, cook things that are greasy on it and that will season it and then you will never have to use Pam or anything. Try crescent rolls or frozen chicken nuggets, French fries, or fish sticks. If you do want to cook something that may stick in the beginning, you can use a touch of Pam.

Tiffanie- Our bouncy seat is from when Ethan was born, so it’s old- they don’t even make it anymore! I wish he could still use it!

Michelle- Every few months, he’ll go for about a month. For awhile, he was going for a week every month. I liked that better. It’s really tough- by the end, I am so starved for adult conversation that I usually run up our phone bill calling family and friends back home!

Leah- That really stinks about the picture! Owen did get one at the hospital- I was looking at Ethan’s shot records and he got 4 of them, but Bubby only got three. I only got three, too when I had them done. Maybe they messed up with Ethan?

Jenn- I am glad Lizzy’s getting back to her old self again. We have a walker and an exersaucer, and all three of our boys used both. I use the walker outside on the pavement, an Owen thinks he’s riding bikes with the big kids. And that exersaucer is a lifesaver sometimes! Owen is really getting the hang of sitting now, too. Now if only he could get back up into a sitting position after he falls over….

Cyndi- Sounds like Michael was showing off for his grandma! He knows where the spoiling will come from! LOL Hopefully he will cut those teeth soon, Owen has been working on his top ones for about two months now.

Martha- Happy 10 months to Mary Beth! We swore that we wouldn’t let our kids watch TV, but now that they are 3 1/2 and 2, we have come around. I am very selective about what they watch, and when they do watch, they are mesmerized because they don’t get to that often. I can get so much done during their favorite shows!

Jenni- Or we could leave the kids with their dads and indulge ourselves in non-kid-friendly activities. You know- like using the stairs or escalators since we won’t be pushing strollers!

Chris- I think at Kaleb’s age, you can’t feed him too much. When he’s full he’ll start fussing or turn his head or refuse the spoon. Or as Owen does- spit up. He probably is having a growth spurt- it sure sounds that way.

Connie- I think that field is now one of pineapples! There are zillions of acres of pineapples here now. The Dole Plantation has a human maze that is so cool, too. Apparently it’s in the Guinness Book of World records as the largest.

Laura- Happy 11 months to Corban!

Chevron- If you decide to try letting your baby cry it out, you could put jump in the shower right after you put her down, that way you won’t hear her, but she’ll be safe. If you are on AOL, email me and I can send you a link to a great chat room.

Tirza- I give Owen prunes and apple juice, and then he usually ends up with the opposite problem! Are you breastfeeding? If so, have you been eating anything unusual or taking any medications?

Suzi- I meant to write that you should try Martha’s advice to me about praising your DH in hopes he’ll do it more often. Sorry! As I read about your MIL, I am thanking whoever will listen that mine is very very far away!!! That is so sweet that Jacob is such a sharer!

Charline- Happy 9 months to Hayden- sounds like he had a great doctor’s appointment. Try steamed veggies and canned fruit- they are mushy enough. Also pasta that is almost overcooked and mashed potatoes. That’s the stuff we feed Owen, and he has only the 2 bottom teeth. He also eats Cheerios by the handful. I think Owen is waiting until his dad leaves for a month in February to start crawling- my boys seem to like to do these things when daddy’s gone.

Mary- # months is too young to spoil, so I probably would wait another month of two to try moving him. A friend of mine set the car seat carrier right in the crib for a few weeks, so the baby got used to the surroundings, but was still comfy in his seat, and then eased him into the crib with out it.

Hello ALL!

It's been a long time since i last checked in here.. Work has been hell to say the least!

How are all of you and your little cuties?
Hope everyone's in good shape.

I have a question.. perhaps some of you here might have the answer. Ajay normally sleeps very well at nite, from 10.30am to 7.30am uninterrupted.. but these past few days he's been getting up at 1.00am, 3.00am, 4.00am and 5.30am, Lord knows why!
He screams his head off, and i feel so helpless.
I cuddle him but it still takes a while before he stops. Is it nightmares?

My MIL told me that it's bcos i take him to the park after 7.00pm. Here in Malaysia, they have this superstition of not taking babies out after 7pm, it seems some spirit may enter him etc.. i'm against all this superstition, but now i'm wondering if it could be true.. any comments?

Ajay is set for his 3rd month jab this Monday.. i'm really terrified. It's like the worst part of motherhood, having to see your child go through pain.. and i'm a first class wimp. I cry at every little thing.. I'd probably embarass myself silly at the doc's office!!

Gotta run now.. work is crazy.

Take care and see you all tomorrow.

*hugs*

Just a few personals:Laura, you are so right. God is in control at all times and even though
in the natural it might not look like that we have to have faith. He has
always provided more than enough for us. I'm glad you believe that.

Chevron-welcome! It's hard to let them cry, but sometimes you have to.
I have three other children besides my 7 mo. old and there are times
they need me and I can't pick her up right away. When she was younger
I did get her as soon as she cried as I wanted to instill a sense of
security in her. I am still with her almost all day though sometimes
I do leave her with her sisters to play. If you start letting her cry
for just a few minutes and then go talk to her till she stops, extending
the length of time you let her cry each time, she will learn to comfort
herself. I know it's hard to let them cry (especially if it's your
first), but sometimes you have to. Good Luck!

Leah- yes I did go to Rincon. I was right on the border of having to go
to Palo Verde and I hated PV! I played softball. My coach in the
summer was the coach at Tucson High and lots of my teammates went there.
I'm guessing I'm a lot older than you since Max is your first. I
gratuated in 1981. When did you graduate? Who would have thought we'd
meet here?

Charlene-I know what you mean about it being hard to see them take blood from
a baby. Whwn we had to put Danielle in the hospital at three weeks
old, they did a spinal tap and four different blood draws. It was
horrible! The worst was the spinal tap as they poked her for like 30
minutes and she cried so hard she fell asleep during the procedure.

Mary-I had to nurse mine to sleep at three months. She gradually out-
grew it. I actually slept with her quite a while as I had a c-section
and it was easier. She also cried when I put her down and I ended up
using her car seat She seemed to prefer it. I wouldn't let him
cry himself to sleep yet. I think he's too young. My advice is
to try everything and see if something works. You have to do
what works best for you.

Shobs-babies sleep patterns change so much during the first year.
My 7 month old has begun to wake up at 2 or 3 every morning for no
reason but last night she put herself back to sleep for the first
time. I'm sure it's not because you had him out. If he's not hungry
could it be gas? Danielle had gas so bad when she was smaller she would
just wake up screaming.Laura, you are so right.

Hello mommies and babies!

Sorry I didnt get a chance to post this weekend, but.... guess where I have been since Saturday night??? You guessed it.... the hospital AGAIN. Same damn thing! Sat afternoon it just hit me like a ton of bricks, I almose passed out waling from the kitchen to the bedroom, which isnt very far, I had to sit down on the floor, and I half fell onto the floor. I didnt get AS sick this time, but I was on my way. I went to the ER at 6:30pm Sat, and was discharged at 12pm this afternoon. I have had a terrible case of gastrointeritis. (stomach bug) Diarrhea, (with blood in it) vomiting, fever, and I had a sore throat and an earache in both ears! So... I have a (slight) double ear infetction too, and when I left the hospital, my throat cultures hadnt come back yet. What a great way to spend the weekend! They found through blood tests that the level of the throid mes I take was high, so they lowered it. No antibiotics. (yet) So, once again Im miserable!! My joints are all sore again from laying in bed and having IV fliud pumped into me!
Sorry about all the details, but I have to tell someone! My other half isnt very sympathetic, hes just worried about all the moneys its costing b/c I dont have insurance.

Anyways!!! Miss Lexie was running a slight fever tonight (100.0) I know its nothing to be concerned with right now, but Im just wondering what it could be from??

She learned a new trick tonight!! How to blow raspberries!!! It was so cute! I did it to her, and she did it right back!! Its so cute to watch her stick out her little tongue to do it!! Shes also lifting her butt up off the floor now with her legs.... thats how shes going to get rolling!! I can see it now! Im in for it!!! :) But, Im just happy I'll be home to see it and not in the hospital!

Im still going to a new doctor. My dr now wants me to go see a GI dr when I have insurance to make sure nothing is wrong b/c I got the gastrointeritis again. (I did have that the last time)

Oh well, I better get going to bed, so I can get as much rest as possible!!

BTW.... never got my house cleaned b/c I spent the whole day in bed!!!

I will get back on as soon as Im feeling better again!! Talk to you all soon!! Take care!! Hope everyone is better than I am!! :) HUgs and kisses (on the cheek!) to all!!

Love,
Lynn & Lexie 4++months

Hello my friends, it's Sonata

Glad to be back again. I really missed you guys. I wasn't able to post the last 2 days cause our flu got worse. Eray had fever 2 days ago and we ended up in the ER. There was no ped so a regular physician checked him and gave antibiotics. I hesitated about giving him antibiotics cause I was not sure if the dr. was able to diagnose a virus or bacteria. Well we decided to go ahead with it not to take any chances. We went to his ped today and he did not like the idea too much. I am SO angry at this physician at the ER! GRRR! Anyway Eray has no fever now but a really congested nose which really irritates him during the evening when he is sleeping. I am quite congested too, and not being able to heal completely because of taking care of Eray. Dh helped as much as he can but what can he do when I have to breastfeed in the middle of the nite. I seriously consider weaning Eray soon. He is almost 9 months old and I guess i have done enough with this bf thing, and yet i still have to lose so much weight (which is damaging my relation with dh) OK enough venting. My next post will be about Christmas day "drama" we had in Australia. Don't want to bore you girls with 2 negative stories!

Now to personals:

Lynn: I am sorry to hear about your illness. Hope you can rest and get well soon. Try to sleep longer this is the best medicine!

Shobs: I live in KL too( I am an expat). Did not know about this after 7.00 pm sprit. Is this an Indian or Chinese belief?

Jenn: Hope your mom is Ok. She is in my prayers.

Charline: Nice to hear from you again!

Suzi: I feel for you about MIL advices. They drive me crazy too including my SIL(dh's sister). She thinks she is the best mom in the world cause she is raising 2 kids (4 and 6) and they have no cavities(can you believe this! LOL!!!!!). We were too close strangling(!) each other over Christmas (story coming on tomorrow's post!). Praying for patience or getting ear plugs is the best we can do I guess!

Chevon F: Welcome! My little son is almost 9 months old. He's neither crawling nor standing. I know those comments made! Every baby has its own pace. Don't worry.

Love ya all
Have a great day

Greetings ladies and babies!

It's been a long night, with Kat the propeller. She had to nurse at least 10 times and spent the rest of the time flailing around, even in her sleep. She finally settled down around 4:30, so I just built a wall around her, fed early and jumped on here!! I've been taking this new supplement that puts me on edge and I'm wondering if it's gotten through to her.

WEll, on to personals...

Cyndi> I'm up and down, but the downs come mostly because I'm still here and I can't act immediately. I want to get on with this, and not have to face DH every day. It's awkward and tense.~~~Kat's teething pains seem to be on and off, with no evidence of teeth, yet! Her gums are bumpy, but that's it. I think she's frustrated. She wants to eat what we do! I hope Michael's pain eases up so you all get some sleep! ~~~I'll raise her as a vegetarian, like I did her brother. My feeling is that this is the way I am, and, if I'm cooking, this is what you get! However, I always told my son he could try whatever he wanted, but to be careful. Meat can be hard on a tummy that's never had it. He's testing now, and may have bacon with his tofu! It's OK with me.~~~I watched Third Watch last night and soaked my pillow. Not the ending I foresaw. *Sniff*

Michelle> I hope your vacation turns out to be the break you need. I know Vegas' outskirts have a few ritzy horse farms, so I'd be in heaven!! Maybe the place will surprise you.

Tiffanie> It is amazing how we moms have no trouble plotting how to keep noses and ears and behinds clean, while Dh's cringe...!

Leah> I don't know yet when I'm moving. I said I'd aim to stay until Easter, but a marriage counselor said I should belabor it if I've decided I'm going. So, I'm packing and planning, and we'll try to discuss the timing. Dragging it out is very hard. I think it's best for Kat, too, because she'd pick up on the general tension and on my distress. I've been so much more relaxed lately, having decided.~~~Is there any mention of what might be causing the asymetry in Max's head? What would they do about it? I agree about the photo session. Why would any company want to hand out bad PR??? What a drag for you, too, after spending so much time at it. I had Kat's pics done only once....!!!!!!

Jenn> I didn't use a walker for my son, but Kat's got 2!! We have them only on the bottom floor so stairs aren't an issue. Just remember they can get moving and bash into things that can fall over. They can reach higher up, grab cords, head for outlets, run over toes!!! Mostly, I like it. It lets her burn energy safely, as long as I'm right there.~~~ I hope Lizzy's ears clear and stay that way!! The massage really is great because baby plumbing is all connected so drainage is fairly easy. I do it whenever Kat is the least bit sniffly. I don't want to risk a backup of fluid.

Jenni> Nick can lift the cat!!??? He must be strong! Pretty tolerant, too.

Martha> I agree with the limited TV watching. There's so much good that can be shared, it's a shame to make it all tabu. What did you think of Teletubbies? Do they teach values, like Barney? I've never seen more than the good-byes at the end.

Suzi F> Some days I think I'm just putting on a brave front!! I guess, since I've been on my own most of my life, it doesn't scare me. Hard work doesn't, either. And, being free of the toxic chemistry between DH and me is VERY attractive! I'm hoping the horse can come with me. Actually, if I have to sell him, I can do it better in Maryland, where his breed is better accepted. The dog is Dh's. Reality tells me bringing her would make it harder and more expensive to find a place to live, too. Sigh...

Connie> I think I understand your meltdown. With babies and their everchanging schedules, it's nice to have something to count on. I know I get upset if something I've planned on is yanked away!!

Laura> Corban sounds like he's testing different stages in the order he chooses!! Hapy 11 month b-day!!~~~I understand about the benefits. We've been without for a long time, though it's starting up again. I get panicky thinking about what might happen to Kat and the treatment she may not get with no insurance. Shudder!! Much luck to you and your DH.

Chevon> Welcome!! It sounds to me as if your little girl is doing just fine! I have a hard time believing you can spend too much time with your young child. She knows you're there when needed, so she's secure and likely to be quite independent. Sleeping is a biggie with us all, and there are different ways of dealing with it, including letting her cry for a bit. I don't know of any chat sites that are well attended. I'd like to hear about any, too!!

tirza> Welcome to you, too!! I wanted a home birth with both of mine. My son came too early, so I had to go the the hospital and my Dh was too jittery to allow it with my daughter. I threatened to bite anyone who offered drugs, though!! LOL~~~I know Kat had trouble with her bowels when I started her on solids. It's not so bad, now. Has it been going on long? Maybe it'll just take time.

Suzi> That's what MIL's are for!!! LOL

Charline> Hope your b-day was great! I'm so glad to hear Kat's not the only one still toothless!! She gets pureed or dissolving food. Chewables may be a long way off for us!!

Mary> Welcome!! I wish I could help you. I just nursed Kat to sleep or rocked her. I thought 3 months was too young to force anything so didn't try. It probably depends on the child. I wish I could be of more help to you!

Jayme> Kat is quite unsteady, too. She is learning how to lower herself back to the floor, yet thuds on her derriere often!! And, her face...That's why she's got such big cheeks!! And why she's given free rein only on carpet!!

shobs> I don't know about the superstition, but it could be his reaction to a change in routine-if it is a change. he could also be starting the teething thing or going through a growth spurt. Sleep patterns are always in flux, for so many reasons. Teeth would be my first guess, since he's in distress when he wakes. Kat's been doing this since 2 months...and still has no teeth!! LOL

Lynn> I'm so sorry you're feeling so awful. What a trial you've been through. I wish my healing thoughts really did something for you!!

Sonata> It sounds like you've got it a bit rough right now. I do wish certain DH's would ease up on the weight thing. It's so hard to try to take care of everyone and everything and still find the time an energy to exercise or even focus on yourself!~~~ I hear you about the meds. I hate the thought of antibiotics given without knowing what's causing the problem. They tend to knock down the immune system and do nothing about viral stuff. Yet, we parents are afraid not to, just in case. Hang in there, and don't be afraid to vent to us!!

Take care everyone!

Hi! It's Martha.

I have a few personals, but I did not take notes. Let's see if my memory still works!

Lynn - sorry to hear that you were sick again. Glad it was not as bad as last time.

Sonata - after 9 months, babies should not NEED to eat in the middle of the night anymore. If you can eliminate the night feeding, maybe BF would not be so bad. About a week before her 9 month birthday, Mary Beth just started sleeping through the night on her own. I guess I was lucky. Hope you are, too.

Jayme - We watch tv so I am sure I will not be able to totally eliminate it from our house, but I do want to keep it to a minimum. Right now, it is still unuseful to MB because she will not watch it for more than 5 minutes.

Well, my memory has FAILED me.

There is a guy that my DH works with whose wife sends us about 5 or 6 e-mails a day and they are all offensive jokes. It does not bother DH, but it makes me infuriated that she ties up my e-mail so I have to wait for her garbage to load. What I did today was e-mail them 12 messages - all clean jokes and some Religious stuff. Some of the stuff she sends is offensive to WOMEN and yet this woman is sending it out. I've met this couple in person and they totally grossed me out. Never met anyone else like them.

Good morning mommies and babies! Whoever sent me the sleep fairy....thank you! Nick slept from 8pm - 6am this morning!!!! YAY

SuziF - Hi! How is Sam doing?

Connie - I have meltdowns like that all the time and over really stupid things. Your 6 yr old sounds so cute!

Laura - Happy 11 months to Corban!

Chevron - Hi and welcome. Nick is the same way at bedtime. I usually let him cry it out for 10 minutes, go in, give him his paci, rub his back and softly talk to him for a few minutes, say goodnight and leave. Usually within 5-8 minutes he is asleep. Good luck

Tirza - Welcome. Is Rebekah nursed or bottle fed? Sometimes nursed babies won't go everyday.

Leah - Thanks! Hope your time teaching flys by. Max is gonna love his saucer!

Suzi - I love when they share. Nick will share just about everything, paci, teething cookies, pickles, bottle, sippy cup...MIL's...can't shoot 'em. How about a 1 way ticket somewhere far away?

Charline - Happy 9 months Hayden! No cold here, I think we are getting a top tooth instead :0)

Jenn - Heavy Metal Anna! Too cute. And what a little flirt

Jayme - How about some serious beach patrolling???

Shobs - It could be a growth spurt. Is Ajay hungry when he wakes up at these ungodly hours? I remeber Nick went through one at about 3 months.

Lynn - OMG Girl! Take care of yourself. Is Lexie teething? They can sometime get a low fever at the onset of teething.

Sonata - Poor Eray! Hope you guys feel better soon.

KathieG - My cat weighs about 6-7 pounds. But yes, Nicholas is very strong.

Well, I guess thats it for now. Hello to anyone I missed and big hugs and kisses to all!!

Good morning,

Hope everyone is have a good day. Corban slept better last night, only crying 5-10 minutes each time he got up. His naps have been all messed up yesterday and today. I think he knows that daddy is home. Oh well, one thing at a time.

Got to run because he is hungry. Here are a few personals.

Chevon - I am in the process of trying to teach my 11 month old son to put himself to sleep. Last night ended the first week and it went to sleep after only 5 minutes. He woke up a couple of times during the night but went back to sleep after 5-10 minutes. Last week he would cry anywhere between 30-40 minutes at a time. We would go in and check on him every 10 minutes just to let him know that we were still there. I would not talk to him or pick him up, just lay him back down. He just turned 11 months old yesterday and crawled for the first time Sunday. He has been walking for a couple of weeks. Each child is different. My oldest never crawled. My started walking at 9 months, 13 months and 10 months. Again, each child is different. I would not worry about spoiling her. My oldest is 14 and the first two years of his life he would cry anytime I was not in the room. It did not matter if I was gone 10 minutes or 2 hours. He is now a very healthy indepdent teenager and although it is no longer cool for him to hang around his mom we are very close. Welcome to the group.

Tirza - Welcome. The only thing I know to try is a little Kayro syrup mixed with her bottle. If you get really want to get things moving you can try a Fleet enema for babies. I had a niece that had to use them until she was able to get regular. Hope things work out. When all else fails consult your ped.

Charline - Happy 9 month birthday to Hayden. Mash potatoes are a good table food and so are mashed carrots.

Jayme - Corban HATES the playpen. I have a regular playpen and a "play yard" one of those octogon hard plastic things that sit on the floor. He likes it better than the regular playpen but not much. He usually just stands at the side and screams for me to pick him up. He likes being on my side of it, but not his. He is napping better and sleeping better at night. Once I get that accomplished playing in the playpen will be my next project. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers regarding the search for a job for my DH.

Lynn - So sorry that you are having such a rough time. Hope that you are feeling better and stronger each day.

Jenn - Hope things work out for your mom. I'll be praying for all of you.

Hi girls!
I just thought Id stop by, and let you know Im still living! :) Thanks for all of the get better wishes, I just skimmed the posts from the last few days. I am feeling a little better, but Im VERY dizzy, so Im going to take another day off from work, and hopefully rest.... as much as you can with a 4 month old! Hopefully I wont lose my job, b/c Ive been sick since I started it!

I got lucky, and Lexie slept pretty good last night.... form 10:30 to 3:30, then till 7:30, them she slept oin and off till 9am. Lately, thats a good night!

Im back to BFing troubles. Unfortunately. I pumped while I was in the hospital, and had no trouble. But when I nursed her yesterday, I never felt myself let-down. Now, Ive always felt it, could I be letting down and not feeling it all of a sudden??? Im going to call my ob/gyn and see what she has to say about the whole thing, and if there is anything she can do or suggest to help. My peds office will just say to nurse frequently.

Well, Missy on the floor is yelling now.... better go!! TTYS!!

hi from LisaB, who graduated from this board about 4 months ago. I just wanted to let my "old" buddies (Lynn, Jenn, Shanna, Charline, etc.) know that Max is going to be a big brother sometime around September 17, 2000!!!!!! I'm 4 weeks pregnant so it doesn't really seem "real" yet, but I'm sure it'll sink in soon!

Mornin Ladies!
Jenni & anyone else who asked: Sam had a really awful afternoon into last night & right on thru to this AM. He was so gassy and I can't figure out what could have caused it. The only thing I ate that I havn't for awhile was pizza~ and it wasn't spicy just pepperoni & mushroom. We couldn't put him down.I tried lying him in the bassinette so I could climb in bed & 10min later he'd be up screaming. He woke up at 5:30,bf'd & stayed up right thru to his next feeding and just finally fell asleep a little bit ago~ in the bouncy seat.
Shobs:My guess is teething. Wonder where thay got those superstitions...must be old because they obviously don't account for different time zones or anything like that.(I'd tell MIL that it's not past 7PM Your Time!LOL!)
Jaime:My mom is a PC consultant as well. She had her Spring regional sat AM also. Needless to say I have alot of stoneware (& gadgets)
On the earwax:there's a gadget you can get fm some wholistic places to do something called "candeling" it's a tube that you put up to the ear & create a vaccuum w/ a candle at the other end~it softens the wax & draws it out. I have a friend who swears by it. Her 7yr old has never been on antibiotics & this is supposed to clear up the ear problems in a day or so.(I'll have to get the name of the co. she ordered it fm)

Hey all, thanks to you all for praying for my Mom, I am at my wits end on this. I know it is in Christ's hands, but as a human, I worry about the world and according to DH, I try to fix everyones hurts, needs and problems and never concentrate on me which I should do sometimes.

I sort of felt a tooth last night!!! They haven't broken through yet but you can feel the edge of them sometimes in Anna's mouth when you get bitten really hard.

Question??? Anna acted really spooked all day yesterday. Normal everyday sounds like a squeaky door, dog barking, pans getting out of the drawer, scared her and made her jump. Is that normal or has something spooked her???

PERSONALS

Lynn, Prayers are with you, hope you feel better soon. I had an upper GI right after I got pg---go figure, the hospital blood test said I wasn't.... That is not fun to get. Also on the let down, when I don't feel good

SuziF, Anna did that too when she had bad gas, the doc suggested to me a warm washcloth on her bare tummy, or holding her naked against my bare chest with a blanket over the back of her. Could be the teething too, she doesnt sleep very well or want to go to sleep when her teeth hurt.

KathieG, LOL! Anna could probably pick up our dog, she is only 3.5 lbs (Toy Maltese), we are really watching her now cause Tena (the dog) wants so badly to play with Anna, and now Anna wants to grab the dog cause she is the size of one of her stuffed white bunnies.....

Martha, LOL on your earlier post on Teletubbies! They are banned from our house, DH says the only way to truly understand them is to be high on acid. (DH feels the same about Pokemon too.)

Jayme, I am considering an exersaucer for Anna cause she is totally out of her swing, it just doesn't seem safe to me with her size and the way the straps are configured to hold her in. Everyone at church that has them love them. So I hope she does, we have the Relgalo (sp?) playyard, Anna loves it and it was one of the best rated portable cribs/playpens (I saw it mentioned in the Dec 1999 issue of Parents while at the doc with my Mom.)

I have to go pump while no one is looking for me to ask questions, pray for that, they are not supposed to disturb me when I am pumping but they always do and expect me to stop and come out and answer questions..... I wish I didn't have to work....

God Bless!
Jenn and Anna

Good afternoon mommies and babies....I really just needed a break. Work is a little crazy today. Big Boss from London is in today and tomorrow (well they're out to lunch now)

Laura - Glad Corban slept better for you. I've never tried to put Nicholas in a playpen - maybe I'll give it a shot. I just had a bad feeling about them when I visited a possible DC and they had a child in one and told him he was in "jail" until he settled down. Kinda turned me off of them.

Lynn - Hope BF picks up for you. Could it be slow becuase of how sick you've been? Keep drinking those fluids. {{{Hugs}}} & wet sloppy kisses to you and Lexie from me and Nick (alright no sloppy kisses from me!)

LisaB - Like I said in my e-mail Congrats!! I am soooo happy and excited for you. DH sends his warm wishes and a pat on the back/high five to your DH!

SuziF - It could be the cheese in the pizza. I know when I nursed I had to cut back big time on dairy - Nick was sooo uncomfortable after I ate pizza, yogurt, ice cream, cheese ravoli - stuff like that.

Jenn - Hope you get to pump uninterrupted! Do you get to go somewhere quiet and out of the way? Prayers are with your mom and your family and YOU to get through all of these tough times.

Well, 2 hours to go until I get to pick up Monkey Boy!! Bye for now.

Hi again everyone, it's Chevon, this is my second time here and I am really loving reading all your messages. It is good to see what other moms and their little angels are doing and what problems they are encountering, makes me feel like someone understands. I really appreciated the responses, thanks alot. Last night I tried to put my little girl to sleep in her crib and had a very lucky encounter. I first made sure she was sleepy, really cuddly in my arms, and then put her in. She didn't cry for a while, but after about 10 min. she started crying, but I could handle it ok since it wasn't really heartbreaking cries. So I did as you all said, and left her there for a while, the crying wasn't constant, which was also good, and after 5 minutes she was asleep, of course she had no blankets on so I had to fix her up later. I sure hope I will have luck again tonight, but I am very doubtfull if it will be always this short. However, I will keep my fingers crossed! Ha! One more question: Do you use this Method for your children during the day also? Or only at night?? Would appreciate your response.

Charline: It is nice to know of someone else who has a 9 month old and how they are doing, I think I will take your advice on ignoring people when they question mobility and let it happen when it happens. As for Table foods to give, well I just started recently also and here is what I have been doing: For breakfast I give childrens Iron Fortified Rice Cereal and a slice of whole wheat toast and diluted apple juice - she just loves this meal. I also give her whole grain oat ring cereal, plain yogurt, mashed banana(sometimes I mix these two together), whatever meat we may have such as chicken or roast(without salt) and chop it up really fine in processor, if it seems to dry I add a little milk. I also steamed brocolli and carrot and processed it small, then froze it in ice cube trays and then into freezy bags, take out whenever and add a little milk or butter if desire, hope this helps.

Jayme: I am not on AOL, I have Microsoft Internet Explorer? but guess I can still use that link?

Connie: Appreciated the info. on how to go about putting baby to sleep, will keep in mind.

Santana: Good to know of others with baby same age as mine, will remember that every baby has own pace.

Katie G: Thanks for the message, good to know others think it is ok to spend lots of time with kid.

Jenni: Thanks for the welcome and the info on putting my baby to sleep.

Laura Ellis: It was nice of you to share your info on how your first week went in trying to teach your son how to sleep, sounds successful, hope I have that luck. Also good to know of when your kids walked, I guess I will have to let my baby decide when her time is right.

Quickie to SuziF~~I cant eat pizza either.... it gives Lexie really bad gas, and she is miserable for about 2 days!!! Ive pinpointed it to the sauce.... even though it might not be spicy, sauce is very acidic, and thats what does it for Lex! I know someone else mentioned the cheese too... that could be it too... I over-did it with the cheese not too long ago.... I was CRAVING pizza, so I opted for a calzone instead, b/c I could just have a little sauce with it....well... all the cheese... I constipated her for 2 days!! I still cant eat it, even though Im not BFing FT! Better luck to you... I sure miss pizza... and lasagna.... and chix/eggplant parm.......

Hi all. Barb here. Sorry to not be very active lately - we got a bit of bad news.

I took Haley on Monday for her 6 month X-ray with her Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, and they determined that she has to be fitted for another brace. The ball of her leg bone (Femur?) is not fitting into her hip sockets correctly. You remember the hip sockets, they were corrected by Pavlic brace she wore for 4 months after her birth? Now this brace will be from her waist down and hold her legs in place.

I am crying while writing this. I am so sad that she is just starting to reach milestones (sitting up, etc) and I think this will put those on hold for awhile.

She sees her regular Pediatrician tomorrow, and I hope to get more ifo then. I was in such shock on Monday, I don't think I asked all the q's I needed to. I did get yelled at for having her in the Johnny jumper, though. I was pissed about that because I have always asked them "Is there ANYTHING she shouldn't be doing?" I don't even know how long this treatment will be for.

I just wanted to let you all know what is going on -- I will try to catch up on posts and personals tomorrow or Thursday. Please pray that my sweet Haley will finally be able to live without braces on her body. DH was crying and holding Haley last night, it was very sad.

Can you believe that this is all from her being a breech baby?

Gotta go mom's - kiss those babies from me and Haley!

Hi everyone. I think I might be getting a breast infection again. It's really sore on one side. I don't know how this could happen again. I don't feel a clogged duct, but it really hurts. I'm going to get straight to personals since I have to get Max in 25 minutes. BTW work is much better now that I have some control again. I've been planning a lot of really good academic activities and it's already paying off.

Suzi- MIL are the worst. Mine wants us to come over every night at 7:30. We put Max to bed at 8, and I know she can't figure out why we don't come over!

Charline- Enjoy your steak. Did they say anything else about Hayden's head? Glad he had such a good appt!

Jenn- Good luck with your mom. The sitter told me Max was the same way yesterday with noises. I don't know what it was though.

Jayme- I really want a stone! I was supposed to go to a PC party the week Max was born. Jokingly I responded I'd be there unless I was in the hospital, and sure enough that's where I was two weeks early!

Shobbs- Good luck on the shots. It's not fun, but it makes you feel nice that you can comfort them!

Connie- Okay so you are a little older than me. I graduated in 90. What a small world!

Lynn- Oh you poor thing! I only feel myself let down when both boobs are really full.

Sonata- I would have killed the ER doc. Hope Eray is in the swing of things again!

Kathie- The doc thinks his head is like that because he's on his back to sleep. I'm hoping now that he likes being in his jumpy seat and once we get the excersaucer things will even out.

Martha- I hate when we get offensive emails. What morons!

Jenni- Can't believe that jail comment. I'll send a pic of Max from home on Thurs.

Laura- Five minutes is great! What a difference a week makes!

LisaB- Congrats! How old will that make Max? My Max was due on the 19th. Good luck getting through the summer!

Suzi- Could be the cheese or the sauce. It also could be just gas. I spent the first 3mos trying to figure that out, but I think it just takes some time.

Cheveron- Max is great putting himself to sleep at night, but it's not as easy for naps. He's only 4mos. so hopefully that will get better as he gets older.

Barb- I know this must be so hard for you, but Haley will be fine. I'm sure I've told you before, but it's worth saying again: My mom just had her hip replaced because of this. I was in a brace for a majority of my first 5years. I think that's a much better option than not being able to walk at 50. My mom said I reached all the same milestones, just some a little late. Haley will never notice the difference unless you tell her. I don't have any memeories of my early braces. (I remember the ones during kindergarten). I'm praying that this one does the trick. It's got to be much harder on you than on her. Hang in there!

Okay, got to go get my angel. I'll probably not post until Thurs. Have a great couple of days!

Hi Everyone! Suzi and Jacob here. Jacob slept all night last night. Thank Goodness!!! And Lucky me, I woke up with a killer soar throat and cough. What is up with this? I was so healthy when I was pregnant and now I feel like my body is falling apart. Anyone else feel the same way?
Oh well, I'll live. Anyway, here are some personals. Hope everyone had a good day.

Charline, Happy Birthday Hayden!! How about some Mashed Potatoes?

Mary, Welcome!! I have no idea but I'm sure one of the ladies here can help you.

Jenn, I love the Metalica Onesie!! I'll have to tell my DH about that one.

Jayme, Do you mean, "Thanks for getting up with Jacob last night honey. I really appreciate your help." Something like that? I sure wish my MIL was far away.

Shobs, Happy 3 months Ajaj!! I don't know about superstitions but how about a growth spurt or maybe teething????

Chevron, Welcome to you!! I have such a hard time letting Jacob cry. He can usually hold out longer then I can. Sometimes you just have to though. Good luck.

Lynn, Oh my gosh!!! Are you okay? Feel free to vent here anytime or you can email me. I'll always listen. Is Lexie teething? Sometimes that may cause a low grade fever. Keep an eye on it. FEEL BETTER SOON!!!

Sonata, I can't wait to hear about the "Drama" in Australia!! I sure hope you too start feeling better soon! Why do IL's have to be so difficult?

Kathie, Gee thanks!! HA HA!!

Martha, try sending the stuff right back to her and maybe she will get the hint that you don't want that filth anymore?!?!?!

Jenni, I would love to send my MIL on a oneway ticket to SIBERIA!!! She makes me crazy!!

Good evening ladies! I've been trying to post this since this morning, but just wasn't able to
finish. The kids are all sneezing and Kathy is
coughing like crazy so I'm trying to stay out of
the line of fire. I just hope Danielle doesn't
catch it. She had such a hard start in life and
I just want her to be well. Here's some personals:
Sonota-I understand how you feel about the antibiotics because I went
through the same thing. When Danielle was three weeks she became very
lethargic and cold. When we took her to the ER they said when babies
get an infection sometimes they get cold instead of a fever. She was
only 95 degrees when we took her in. On the first trip they sent her
home as they could find nothing conclusive, but after the second trip
they transported her to another hospital across town with a peds unit.
They immediately put her on an IV drip as she had lost 1 lb. in 1 day
and they hooked her up to an antibiotic drip also. They said that with
babies if you wait the 48 hours it takes to get the lab results back
and it is bacterial, it left untreated, the baby could die so they
treat them as if it is bacterial until they find out otherwise. After
seeing how quickly she got so sick I could understand their logic.I
hope you and Eray are feeling a lot better. We'll keep you in our
thoughts and prayers.

Lynn-Sorry to hear you're not feeling well again. We'll be praying for
you. How cute is Lexie sticking her little tongue out! Danielle has
been amusing herself this morning by laying in her portacrib and
squeeling joyfully. She has now tired herself out and is napping
peacefully. Hope you feel better today.

Jenn-Jullianna sounds adorable. I love to hear them singing. Danielle
is really verbal some days and others she hardly makes a peep. My
five year old however, has started making up songs about Danielle. He
sings them to her at the top of his lungs and she just giggles and
squeals with delight. The funny thing is that the songs don't even make
any sense at all!

Kathy-is Kat going through a growth spurt? Danielle started waking up
during the night a couple of weeks ago after she had been sleeping
through the night. She finally slept through last night from 8:30-
5:00 a.m. She is a couple of weeks older than Kat and I'm still not
sure why she started waking. Maybe it's a growth spurt stage? It
could also be the meds you mentioned.

Martha-does your husband particularly want to get that ladies e-mails?
If he is impartial, can you block her e-mails someway? I read some-
where that you can put in addresses you don't want to receive from and
they will be blocked. Maybe she'll just get the hint from the stuff
you send. Good Luck!

Jenni- I think the sleep fairy visited here last night so hopefully
she didn't leave your house to come here. Danielle slept from 8:30-
5:00 after waking up one or two times every night for the last two
weeks after sleeping through for quite a while. I'm not sure if it
was another growth spurt or what. I love the name Nick. I wanted to
name our 8 year old Nicole but my husband didn't want her to have a
boys nickname. I love Nicky. I had to settle for Kathleen Nicole.
I guess I wore him down though as Danielle was also on my first list
and he vetoed it two times because she could be called Danny. Number
two we named Stephanie. I guess i wore him down though because on
number 4 he agreed to Danielle. We didn't pick Danielle's name until
they were prepping me for my c-section and I thought I was dreaming
that he agreed to it so I made him say it again. He got to pick the
middle name this time. So I guess we're even now.

Barb-I feel so bad for you. If Haley wears the braces now will she
be o.k. later? If so, I think the good thing is she probably won't
remember them. It's so hard to go through things like this, but if
it will help her lead a better life isn't it worth it. Babies are
so reselient and bounce back so quickly. We'll be praying for her
and for the braces to do their job perfectly.

Leah-there is an article in the newsletter from Parenting Today
that talks about misshaped heads and how they are usually caused
from sleeping on their backs with their head turned in one direction.
They said that alternating the direction he sleeps in every other night
helps and that once they're sleeping on their tummies it usually
evens itself out. Is this the same thing and is this what your dr.
told

Suzi-I agree is is probably the cheese or sauce. It affected Danielle
the same way . I used to give her the Mylecon drops and they helped
tremendously.

camera for xmas to cut down the cost of film developing! :) I miss Lexie being so small, Im
glad I have so many pics!!

Tiffanie~~on the earwax issue.... with Lexie, I just wash her ears as much as possible with
a cloth during her bath, and it just sorta comes out, and when it is comilg out, I usually
just stick my little finger in her ear to get it out!

Kathie~~maybe we can start a packrats annonymous support group!!! LOL!!

Michelle~~I will let my ped know I didnt appreciate the way he treated me!! I know I look
young, so maybe he didnt take me seriously. But... hey, Im not THAT young, IM 24, and Im
just as serious about my daughter as all of you are... regardless of my age!

Leah~~congrats on Max's good checkup! Im sure his head will even out once he isnt on it so
much! I will keep my fingers crossed for you anyways! :) Sorry about the pic... that stinks
but at least you didnt have to pay for it! :)

Jenn~~glad Lizzy is on the mend! Thanx for the welcome!! :)

Happy 10 months MaryBeth!! What a big girl!! :)

Jenni~~gotta love Blues Clues!!! Sure beats Barney and Telletubbies!! (sorry moms!!)

Chevon~~welcome! All babies develop at different rates, so dont let anyone tell you what
she should be doing!

something they have to get used to doing!

Jenn~~good luck to your mom, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. LOL about the onesie!
She sounds so cute singing in the store!

Jayme~~sorry, I didnt even get mine done.... but Id love to come to Hawaii! Thanks!

Shobs~~good to hear from you! Glad Ajay is doing well. It could be anything keeping him
from his usual sleep habits, but I dont know if I would necessarily think bad spirits...
not yet anyways! :) Good luck, hope he sleeps better soon!

Sonata~~welcome back/home! Hope youre all feeling better soon! We aew one sickly bunch
around here lately! Thanks!

Kathie~~thx again! Hope Kat is back to normal!

Martha~~thanks! You should just email her and tell her to stop sending the jokes to you!
Then tell DH to get his own email acct for her crap!! LOL!! :)

Jenni~~dont hog that sleep fairy.... I deserve her back!!! Lucky! I think she might be,
but who knows! Thx, I, hoping to continue BFing still.

Laura~~thanks!

Jenn~~thanks! I dont think Im producing, I dont hear her swallowing at all. Im still
taking the fenugreek, and trying to nurse as often as possible. Im going to try to pump
later to see what happens.

Barb~~I am so very sorry for you and Haley, but keep in mind that this must be the best
thing for her in the long run, and its not forever. I know it must be very hard for you.
Big hugs and kisses to both of you!

Leah~~maybe youre getting an infection b/c youre not nursing as much anymore?? Hope it goes
away fast! I used to always feel it when I LD.

Suzi~~feel better soon!!! Im feeling better, thanks!

Connie~~thank you!! She is very cute! :):):) I love when she squeals! Lexie hasnt been up
for amusing herself today.... your a lucky mom!! :)

I love this cut and paste business!! Hope I didnt lose anything!! :)

Just a few notes...

Lynn> I had strep throat so many times in the past and about 6 years ago had my tonsils removed. havent had any problems with my throat since. WHAT A FEELING!
Tiffanie>ive asked our ped about the medicine (non prescription - at the drugstore) that would help soften the earwax. she said its safe to use for babies, so it might be something helpful to use.
Laura>sorry about dh job. thoughts are with you.
Chevon>it annoys me to when everyone asks is he crawling, is he standing etc. all babies do their thing when its time, doesn't mean anythings wrong.
thoughts are with everyone have a good week

Hey all!!!

Another hectic day at work and what better way to have breakfast with your disgusting colleague, the waste basket spitter!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who do not know, i work in an 80% chinese dominated company, as a personal asst to the MD. And being predominantly Chinese, (and mind you, Malaysian Chinese are not known for being clean) i'm exposed to the sickest, gross-est acts known to mankind. Take one: the phlegm spitter.. he coughs up phelgm ,while sittin in his cubicle and spits it in the waste paper basket!
Take two: the horrendous ladies toilet... any possible waste imaginable from a woman's body is all there, VISIBLE. And finally, the booger flickers.. need i say more? Yuck.. enough already.. I'm sure some of you are gagging by now!

Ajay slept well last nite.. Kathie G mentioned teething.. so soon?? Wow, it never struck me that babies teethed so early... I notice however that Ajay's extremely uncomfortable when he's sleepy..
he's always trying to scratch his eyes/forehead.
Oh well.. i'll ask him doc this monday..

Sonata: HOpe Eray feels fine soon. I saw your little fella in the babiestoday photo gallery.
So very cute!

Jenni: Glad Nick slept well.. does he always sleep this well? Ajay does most of the time, that's why it surprised me the other day when he woke up screaming at 1am. He wasn't hungry as i gave him milk, but he drank only 3 ounces and slept off. My guess is bad dreams, or as Kathy said, teething.

SuziF: LOL.. if i ever said something like that to MIl, that'd be it!!! SHe takes care of Ajay while I'm at work, she's really unhygenic, but i know she loves him to death.. she doesn't bother using sterlizers, she merely washes his bottle and leaves it soaking in water! She tells me that she's had 9 children, and this was the method they were raised, nothing happened, so she doesn't see anything wrong with it. I can't say much, i've given up fighting already. MIL's stubborn as hell. Oh yea, you mentioned something about Sam being gassy. I'm not sure if you have Gripe Water there.. I give Ajay 1/2 tea spoon with water everyday and no problems with gas (knock on wood!)

Jenn: I checked out your homepage, Anna's huge!
I thought i was the only one who delivered a 8.8 pounder baby.. she has beautiful blue eyes.

Chevon: From what i read, it's best if you picked up a crying baby if he's less that 4 mths. After that, leave him crying for about 10 mins, and anything after that, pick him up.
I always pick Ajay up when he cries, he's only 3 mths, i feel that sometimes they feel insecure and when i carry him, it only takes a few minutes before he dozes off to wonderland!

Barb: so sorry to hear about Haley.. Poor little girl. Haley's in my prayers.

Lynn: Hiya! How's Lexie doing? 4 mths already, time sure flies! Is she already eating soft food?
if so, what are you feeding her? Just really curios, cos Ajay will start eating soon too and i'm sure that fatty would love to chew on anything he gets his hands on! lol..

More stinking work to do... i'll check back in tomorrow... kisses to all your little angels and be well!

I must say that Shob's post reminded me of where I used to work with tobacco chewing phlegm spitting into trash can man. Gross, I feel for you!! It also reminded me of Tailer, my 3 yr old. She has taken the habit of picking at her seat(bottom, butt whatever you will call it.), we haven't figured out why. She's clean and her underpants aren't riding up, so why? we have no clue. DH asked her why? she doesn't know. So when he saw her pick at her Barbie's seat he said you can't do that...she's Malibu (or some other) Barbie, not Pick-My-Butt Barbie. So now he's decided to find white trash and pick my butt barbie for christmas next year. With my sick sense of humor I find it funny. And a good note...She stopped picking her seat after that!
I thought you all could use a laugh. And for those on your first babies...look what you get to look forward to!!! LOL!:)

Sorry couldn't help telling that story. It was better than Kaleb starring in "every time I toot, I poop." which is what's been happening since starting cereal.

Well I better go, time to get out the pooper scooper again.

Hiya Ladies- Jayme here-

Our stupid piece of sh!t car broke down while DH was driving Ethan to school this morning- luckily another mother was behind him and dropped him off. DH works a few blocks over, so he walked to work. Our good car was at Firestone getting new tires and an alignment (our Christmas present from my dad) and I had to walk over two miles to go get it with Owen and Bubby so that I could go get Ethan from school on time and DH from work.

Shobs- Could Ajay be teething? Sometimes that will disrupt his sleep patterns. Personally, I would try keeping him in after 7 for a while and see if it helps. I have a bit of a superstitious streak in me though. I figure it couldn't hurt. Good luck at the doctor's visit!

Oh, Lynn!!! Poor thing! You need to get healthy!! My kids all have run low fevers while teething, keep an eye on Lexie's gums. I stopped feeling myself let down too, and then I stopped being able to pump, and then I started giving him bottles because I felt he wasn't getting enough and he took them. That's about the time I weaned, because of the medication, but I think he wouldn't have wanted to nurse much longer. Oh- you all have an open invitation and a place to stay if you want to come here....

Sonata- I think that you are quite a woman to make it to 9 months nursing! Maybe DH could bring Eray to you in bed to nurse at night, that way you won't have to get up. It really helps, because you won't fully wake.

Kathie- Soon enough they will be out of control like my other two!

Martha- We are TV addicts- I don't know what we were thinking when we said that years ago- but then again, I also said I wouldn't spank....

Jenni- That would be great if I didn't look 5 months pregnant in my bathing suit- it is so hard to bring three kids to the beach- the amount of paraphernalia is ridiculous!

Laura- We have that play yard, too, only my kids didn't mind it. I would fill it with toys and they liked it so much better than the play pen. I am glad to hear that the sleep situation is improving.

LisaB- Yea! Congratulations!

Suzi- How does your mom like being a consultant? Has she done it for a long time? I just got started.

Jenn- All three of my boys have used this exersaucer and they all have loved it. Actually, it's a Graco Entertainer, but I don't even think that they make these anymore. I use the Jonny Jump Up and the play yard a lot too.

Barb- Poor baby! Just try to imagine her a year or so down the road, when what month she sat up in doesn't matter- and she is healthy and beautiful and doing everything she's supposed too.

Leah- I can send you a catalog if you want- just email me your address.

Suzi- I felt like a freight train hit me for months after Ethan was born. Yeah- that's what I meant. I can't do it though, it tends to come out too sarcastic when I say stuff like that. Just messages on the answering machine from my MIL grate on my nerves!

Chris- I was LMAO with that Barbie story!!

Hi everyone!!!

I know I've been absent for sooo long, those of you who know me know that my life is one long drudge of housework and cooking!!! lol
There are so many new ladies and babies here,I've spent for ages reading through all of the posts!

Ramadan ended last friday,so now I have to get back into some kind of routine.

Zayed was 10mnths on new years day.I think that his nickname should be dennis the menace now.he is in to evrything that he shouldn't be.i gave him a shower for the first time a couple of days ago,he usually loves a bath,he had a major poopy butt so i quickly turned the shower him,ohh did i laugh at him,i don't know what he was thinking but the look on his little face was priceless!!!

As for the ongoing teletubby debate i have to say that I adore them (of course i would being British)Zayed loves them too; i have a teletubby wallpaper on my pc and zayed ginees like a madman when he sees it and tries to say EEHH OOOHH but it comes out more like a strangled warthog!!!LOL

Ok gals,i will finish her and try to keep up with everyone

CHRIS***Oh the joys of little girls!!!I was rotflmbo at the barbie story.Maybe they should have a ken doll for Sami called Dirty sleeve ken...he is always wiping his nose or mouth on his sleeve!!

before i forget though... i was watching Oprah this am and was shocked by how paedophiles stalk children on the net and generally get any information out of them so they can stalk them;i was pretty scary stuff!! So those of you with older children who have acssess to a puter be very aware of what they are doing in chat rooms esp!!!

Hope that you are all well,i will go and feed mister man now,

love to you all

Good morning everyone! Hope you are all great! Gonna move right to personals since I have tons today and my little one is moving around in his crib but doesn't seem to be awake yet. Here goes....

Jenn - Glad Lizzy is feeling better! I put Zack in his walker this week for the first. His feet don't even touch the ground! :) But he LOVES to sit up and play but can't on his own so I use that. He doesn't last long before he fusses and then I take him out!

Leah - That picture thing is weird. If they are trying to get business why would they give you a lousy picture?

Martha, Leah, Jenni, Suzi, Lynn, Bev B. and Charline - Thanks for the ear wax info! :)

Connie - That is so weird! My DH just told me yesterday that he had to work the weekend and inside I have been ticked off at him all day yesterday. Sure the money comes in handy, but he doesn't realize how much I value his help with Zack on his two days off. I can actually take a shower without one ear peeled to the monitor or without peeking out of the curtain 20 million times to make sure he is okay.

Chevon, Tirza & Mary - Welcome!

Mary- I heard it's okay to let them cry for longer than 10 minutes - even up to an hour. But heaven knows I wouldn't last that long!

Tirza - My Zack didn't poop for 4 days and I called the ped office and she wasn't worried as long as he was acting normal. She suggested water and juice.

Shobs - I don't believe the evil spirits thing after 7! I take Zack out all the time in the evening! He is probably having a growth spurt!

Lynn - Are you feeling better? So Sorry!!! Could Lexie's fever be teething related?

Barb - Oh, hon! I am so sorry you and your DH are feeling so bad! I know it's hard for you. Can I give you a positive? As hard as it is for you to go through this with Haley you are blessed. My cousin's son has spina bifida and he will never walk. Haley will be okay. Kids are so resilient. Your precious little daughter will be okay! Hang in there and keep us filled in.

Jayme - Sorry your car conked out on you! Just what you needed huh? I hate cars sometimes!

Well, mister is waking up. He isn't crying yet, though! Have a great day!

Greetings ladies and babies!

I've been told that DH and step-daughter have discussed moving out. He because of our clashes, she because she can't bear for us to go and doesn't want to be here for the end. *sob* I would stay longer for her sake, if certain things were in place. Like, I wouldn't have to be around Dh much, and I'd have to have summer plans with my son arranged. Step-daughter will be going to college in August, anyway... I think I'll take her aside and talk alternatives with her. I don't want to belabor this, but will a few more months kill me??? ARGH! I don't know!

On to personals...

Martha> I have heard that there is a way to block certain emails. You can tag addresses that aren't allowed through. My DH is a techy and knows. If we're speaking today (LOL) I can ask. It'd be nice to stop those nasty jokes from getting through.

Lynn> I've heard from others that the let down can become much less intense as time goes on to the point that you're unaware of it. Mine has eased a lot, but I do still feel it.~~~Packrats Anon??!! Moving often helps keep this tendency down, too, but I wouldn't recommend it!!

Lisa B> Welcome back and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Suzi F> With my son, I could not touch dairy or gassy foods, such as broc and cauliflower. I also had to avoid anything acidic-tomatoes (includes sauce, which is more concentrated), citrus fruits, peppers, etc. Pizza is like a bomb to me and something to avoid! I haven't even risked it with Kat!

Jenn and Anna> Maybe Anna's picking up on the sounds as separate now. I don't know. It could also be that she's picked up the spook reaction from others.~~~hey, if Anna's like Kat, I'd be worried your little dog would be entirely stuffed in her mouth!!! LOL

Jenni> Nick must be strong!!! That's a large % of his body weight that he's hefting!!

Chevon> I'm so glad you had a sleep breakthrough!! I tend to treat daytime differently than night. I won't be hush-hush during the day, wanting her to be used to the usual sounds so Ican get things done during her nap. Night-time is dark and quiet and I may insist that it's sleeptime a bit more.

Barb> I am so sorry about Haley's hip. I was thrilled for you before when the brace came off and normal milestones were being met. how long do they say she needs this one? Can she be in a walker, or does it hold her hips immobile? My heart goes out to you, Haley and your DH.

Leah> I'm glad the ped thinks it's from Max's sleeping position. That'll certainly work itself out with his increased mobility!

Suzi> I've been sick, too. sleep deprivation has been blamed for my being susceptible!!

Connie> It could be a growth spurt with Kat, or teething, or the supplement. I don't take it late in the day, but I don't know how long it's floating around my system. That sure must have been a scare with Danielle! Did they ever find out what was going on?

shobs> Ick! Yuck! I'd be grossed out with that work environment, too. I wouldn't have thought any of that was accepted in any culture!

Chris> Too funny! A Barbie for every occasion, eh???

Jayme> My car is 14 1/2 years old. Need I say more? And, I drove it 875 miles to and from Maryland twice since November!!!!!

Good Morning Mommies and babies....happy hump day :0)

Thanks again for the sleep fairy. Nick slept from 7:30pm - 6:15am!!!! But now, he has started with the seperation thing. He cries when I leave the sitters in the morning. Real tears! This breaks my heart. I call the sitter as soon as I get into work and she told me he stopped as soon as I left! But it still hurts.

Chevron - Hope bedtime last night went well. Daytime naps, I usually put him down when he is really tired and he goes no problem.

Lynn - Stop making me hungry for Italian - wait I married one, maybe he can make dinner LOL. Hey your quoted on the front page - your famous!

Barb - My heart is with you and I am praying that sweet Haley will not need the brace long. {{{HUGS}}} to you all.

Leah - Looking forward Max's picture. Glad work is going better.

Suzi - I've been trying to send mine back to Italy. Send yours here and I'll put them both on a plane!

Connie - Thanks! I call him Nicky or "Monkey". No the sleep fairy stayed here too.

Lynn(again) - Actually (please, shoot me) I'm getting to like Tele Tubbies. BTW, does Lexie like "face"? Nick stops what he is doing when "face" is on.

Shobs - YUK!! You should of saved the placenta for them LOL. Nick usually doesn't sleep this well.

Chris - Nick now grabs his "fireman" every chance he gets. He found a life-long friend. LOL. He also tries to grab his buddy Dave's when Dave is getting his diaper changed. DH is going nuts about this. But, Dave tries for Nicks too.

Jayme - Can't look any worse than me. I feel like two people. But the scale says on 9 more pounds to go! From an experienced mother - does it ever come off????

Tracy - I missed you and Zayed! Happy B'lated 10 months "Dennis". Monkey sends hugs and high-fives!

Tiffanie - I hate it when DH works weekends. Mine now has class two nights a week and doesn't get home till 11:30pm! No help to me then.

KathieG - Sorry to hear about your Step-D wanting to move out. Did DH tell you this? If you and she have a good relationship, I would talk to her. She's old enough to understand the complexities of a relationship. {{{Hugs to you}}} Yes Nick is very strong, do think strong enough to support Kat??

Well, thats my novel for now. Hello to anyone I missed and big hugs to all!

Good morning all!

Yesterday was the strangest day! Corban would not nap at all. He dozed off once in the swing for a few minutes and then fell asleep on DH's shoulder. When I put him in bed he cried for 30 minutes and I finally got him out of bed. I was feeling blue yesterday and he might have picked up on the vibes. Also with DH home our routine has changed. I am not sure why I was so blue. I am still not too worried about DH finding a job, maybe it was just hormones. I have not had a period since May of 1998 so I am really messed up. I will probably stop nursing Corban within the next month or so and then the damn will open. The good news is that he went to sleep in daddy's arms last night and did not cry one bit when he laid him down. He did however wake up around 2:00 and cry for 30-40 minutes. When I laid him down after he ate (5:30 a.m.) he was still awake and cooed and talked to himself for about 20 minutes and then slept until after 8:00. He is now asleep in the swing. I did not have the heart to lay him in bed and risk listening to him scream. I have to get all my work done this morning in order to take my mom to the doctor this afternoon. I had better run... on to personals.

Lynn - I never feel myself let down anymore. Do you see any milk on or in Lexie's mouth? I hope you continue to feel better.

Jenn - Hang in there with your mom. The main doctors I type for are radiation oncologists and I type about miracles everyday. I know how it is to worry about your mother. My mom has Alzheimer's disease and is saddens me beyond words that Corban will not get to know what a wonderful grandmother she could have been if not for this horrible disease. My prayers are with you and your family.

Chevon - I have been trying to use the cry method during the day but with no luck. Corban will scream 30-40 minutes and never go to sleep. He will usually go to sleep in his swing and then I can put him in bed. This week he hasn't even wanted to do that. So glad your first night went so well.

Barb - My prayers are with you and Haley. Kids are very resilient and I am sure that it will not slow her down very much. I hope you ped gives you good answers to your questions. Good luck.

Leah - Glad thing are better at work.

Suzi - Hope you are feeling better. We take such good care of oursleves when we are pregnant and after the baby is born we are too busy taking care of everyone else. I think that is why we feel so run down all of the time. Don't forget to take care of yourself too because you are important!

Chris - Loved the Barbie story!

Hello everyone. My name is Stephanie. I have a 3 month old baby boy. His name is Justin. He was almost 3 months premature, so he should actualy only be about 2 weeks old. He had to spend 46 days in the hospital when he was first born, but he is doing really good now. He is a joy to have. He is a perfect baby. He never cries unless he is hungry or is wet. He has slept through the night for about a week now. I cant wait to talk to some other mothers. Get a feel for what should be going on with him.

Hi! It's Martha. I think I forgot to tell you that we lowered the mattress in Mary Beth's crib over the weekend. She is not pulling herself up onto her feet yet, (just knees) but I worried that she might try since sometimes she has plenty of time to practice while she protests going to sleep. Fortunately, it is so low now that we can leave the side rail down and it is not such a stretch for me to lay her down. So, for those of you that may be wondering when that comes...

Barb - I am so sorry to hear your news about Haley. I can only imagine what you are feeling, but I am sure part of it is that you just want things to be normal and typical. Hopefully, she will not have to stay in the brace long. It is good that she won't remember this and she does not realize that every baby does not wear a brace. I did not know that her condition is from being a breech baby. Did you have her vaginally or C-Sect. Once she gets out of it, I am sure she will make huge strides in her motor development. In fact, she may learn to talk early since she will be able to concentrate on that. I would love that! Hugs to you and Haley. You are in my thoughts!!

Thank you to everyone who commented on that weird lady who sends us crude jokes. I did send everything she sent us back to her plus some clean jokes, and we got only 2 e-mails back from her.

Chris - I had tears running down my face when I read about Tailer and her Barbie.

Jayme - sorry to hear about your car breaking down. At least it is warm there for your 2 mile walk to the garage. That's a long way with little ones! I think sometimes you do have to spank - though I have VOWED not to spank as much as my mom did. Spanking was her ONLY method of discipline. Hope I can defy my genes and upbringing.

Jenni - Mary Beth is still going through the stranger anxiety thing. I don't even want to leave her in the evenings and let someone else put her to bed incase she will completely freak. I have probably ruined her by only letting DH or me put her to bed for 10 months. The book says that stranger anxiety will pass after 11 or 12 months of age.

Tracy - Zayed is only about 1 1/2 weeks older than Mary Beth (3/9). Happy 10 months. I think there was something else I wanted to say, but can't remember. Do you give Zayed yogurt? Do you give him regular yogurt like grownups eat? I might try some, soon. Have you given him whole milk, yet? Our Dr. says it is ok after 10 months. I might use it to mix up her cereal.

Once Mary Beth wakes from her nap, it's off to the grocery store for us. I have tried to only go once a week because if I have to go get just a couple items that I missed, I end up buying a ton more. Plus, grocery shopping is not my favorite thing.

Take care everyone!

Hi to all,
Well, it's snowing like crazy here today and it's my mommy group day. I hope I will be able to get the car thru the snow safely. I am also heading off to my moms afterwards. My uncle is in town from Ottawa for a day or two, and Michael and I are going to stay over at mom's for the nite. Tonite is my PPD group too, so I will have mom and Uncle to watch michael for me. Should be fun.
Well, little one is napping, so I am going to grab a shower.
hugs to all,

Jenni - thanks on the third watch info. It was still listed in my local guide. Grr. It's on tonite so I will get to catch it now! Holy, that's a lot of cereal. Our ped told us to give 6-7 tbsp a day of cereal. Sounds like a big difference! I will ask again. Michael is getting 2tbsp of cereal, with fruit and veggies three times a day. Otherwise, it's mommy milk only.

Chris - How old is Kaleb now? It sounds like a growth spurt, they come at fairly regular intervals.

Connie - give yourself a break hon. Crying is AOK. I don't have four little ones running around, and I still get very emotional when DH changes the plans that I have been looking forward to. Especially the ones where WE are to be doing work around the house. I look forward to each chance I get to run around and do the extra errands. I was expecting to have the car last nite, but DH got called into work, and I felt pretty bummed.

Chevon - Love your name! You can not spoil a baby with love. There is no such thing as too much love.

Tirza - Is Rebekah on formula or breast milk? Bmilk doesn't constipate them the way that formula can. Have you started on solids yet? I know that when I started on cereal, I accidently gave Michael too much and got him constipated. I just added applesauce into his diet and some more water and things took care of themselves.

Leah - No, Michael doesn't have any teeth yet. Good thing too, cause at night he has been gnawing on my poor boobies!
The thing I read about walkers was that they give a baby mobility that he is not intellectually ready for, and puts them in situations that they are not yet able to handle. They can get into things that otherwise they wouldn't. Just be careful.

Suzi - I am making the rice cereal by Overcooking a cup of rice with 5 cups of water. I am doing it in the crockpot and letting it cook for 12-24 hours. I am using organic brown rice, so it still needs to go thru the blender. Then I freeze in the icecube trays. Works out to be 1tbsp servings. Have fun!

Charline - Aaah, they take blood at 9mos?? I am not looking forward to that one. Michael is long and lean too. At 7 mos he was 14lbs5oz and just over 27inches. Hard to find pants that fit isn't it? They are long enough, but fall off his little butt!

Mary - I am not a believer in letting them cry it out, especially at only 3 mos. Personally, I would nurse him to sleep. At 3 mos he could be having a growth spurt, and want to nurse much more frequently. Is the crib in your room with you? He may be afraid in a room all by himself. He heard your breathing and heartbeat constantly for 9 mos, and now could be frightened all alone in a separate room. Hang in there. Jayme's idea of the baby carrier in the crib is wonderful!

Shobs - I would say Gas. Michael would wake up literally screaming. Using Ovol drops, or fennel tea seemed to work well.

KathieG - Are your Dr's worried at all about vegetarian babies? I like the idea myself. How early did/will you start tofu? My list says not till 10 months. Did you still do dairy?
Yep, I saw 3rd watch tonite and bawled my head off. What a shocker eh?

Martha - can you set your email up to 'filter' this womans incoming stuff? I know on Hotmail I can set filters so I never again receive mail from certain senders. I believe Outlook has a filter option too. Hope this helps.

Lynn - dont' worry about not feeling your let-down. At some point your body is regulated to the point where it knows how much milk you are going to need, and produces on demand. You don't have a bunch stored just waiting. I would say that you have reached that point. It is usually at around 3 mos, but with all the health upsets you have gone thru, I would not be surprised with it's happening now.

LisaB -Wow! You are preggers already! How exciting. Congrats to you. How close will that make Max and the new baby?

Jenn - teething can really put the little ones off. Perhaps that is why she is so jumpy with the normal things? I can not believe that your coworkers are still bugging you while you are pumping! How about putting on a headset and listening to a walkman with your eyes closed while you are pumping. taht way they would actually have to come close, tap you on the shoulder and really interrupt you. maybe that would make them too uncomfortable, and they would stop?? worth a shot.

KathieG and Connie - I just read in one of the books by Dr Sears that sometimes babies will have really restless sleep, or begin waking all the time again, when they are learning a new physical skill. Like walking or sitting up or crawling. It's like the baby is visualising the new skill, and trying to practice it in their sleep. They wake themselves up. It seems to time out correctly, as Michael was this restless and fussy when he learned to roll over, and again now that he is beginning to crawl. Keep it in mind.

Lynn - if Lexie is still peeing her diapers, remember that you must be producing. I don't feel my milk at all anymore. I rarely hear Michael swallowing, except right at the beginning when the milk is flowing fast. The fenugreek worked awesome for me. I was told to take two tabs four times a day. That was actually too much for me and I was almost engorged, and leaking! Nurse her as often as you can until you are feeling sure of your milk again. Remember too, if you are pumping, the pump doesn't get nearly as much as Lexie would. Also that your milk supply diminishes throughout the day, so check by pumping in the morning, maybe before Lexie is awake.

hugs everyone!!

Good afternoon Mommies and Babies!!

I don't think I've posted in about a week and I hardly have time to do it now. It seems like there is so much to do lately at work.

I hope everyone is doing great. I scanned through some of the posts and noticed that there are a lot of sick people! I think I feel something coming on myself. I hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

Julia is still trying to crawl. She makes her move on one side and then forgets to move the other and down she goes. I'm also ready for her front teeth to come on in. Some days she's so cranky and the drool!! Geez, I'm surprised she's not dehydrated from all the drooling.

Here's a question: Julia usually sleeps from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 or 7:00 every morning. She's always been real good at sleeping through the night. Last night she woke up 4 times. I rocked her back to sleep and it only took about 10 minutes or so but I can't figure out why she wakes again in an hour!! She's not sick and there's no fever, the house isn't hot--I just don't get it. Could her teeth be bothering her? IF any one has any advice I'd love it. I know she's not awake long but I'm the one who has trouble going back to sleep!

I've got to go for now. I promise to do personals later this afternoon. Got students waiting (actually their having a great time making a lot of noise!)

Hi mommies and babies, just thought I'd check in. Only 45 minutes until I get to go home...YEAH

Laura - Hope Corban's schedule eases up soon. I know when DH is home, Nicholas is all messed up for about a week or so.

Stephanie - Congrats and welcome! I love the name Justin - it's my youngest brothers name.

Martha - Thanks for the info on stranger anxiety. We're the same here, DH and I have only put Nicholas to bed.

Cyndi - My ped recommended using the suggested serving guide on the box (gerbers) after 6.5 months of age. Sometimes he eats it all and sometimes not. He's real good at telling me he's done (he shakes his head NO and will not open his mouth) Nick too is long and lean 18.5 pounds (8mos) and 28.5 inches. Nothing fits right!

Well, I guess thats it for now. If I don't get back on tonight have a good one - DH has class and it's just me and Monkey! Big Hugs

HI!

I have been in the hospital for the past few days with a cellulitis infection in my neck. Cellulitis just means infected tissue, the Dr. said probably from a bug bite. I had to have IV antibiotics and was getting shot up with IV demerol (not unpleasant at all!) for pain. I am home now on oral antibiotics, and DH got to spend a few quality late night hours with his son. He did well except for putting his clothes on backwards. Anyhow, I am now feeling better, and i must say the pain medicine they sent me home on gave a real lift to our sex life!:)

Daniel had his 4 month checkup yesterday. He weighs 16lbs, 8oz! He's in size 3 diapers and 9 month clothes! Good grief! He's still waking at night a lot. The Dr said we should get him out of that now, because after 6 months when he develops separation anxiety, it will be impossible. She suggests letting him cry, but it's so hard! e still has sniffles and coughs a lot, and sounds so pitiful.

Sorry no personals right now. I'm still prety low on energy. I have missed you all, though, and keep you in my prayers.

Hi ladies, Charline & Hayden here. I'm trying to fight off a cold. I'm trying not to kiss Hayden so I don't pass it on to him. That is very hard!

Welcome Mary!

Jenn-I will keep your mom in my prayers. Anna sounds so cute "performing" in Babies R Us and giving you wet drooly kisses! Hayden also likes to get the attention of just about whoever will look, especially women when we are in public. Then he will keep on tilting his head and smiling at them.

Jayme-Thanks for the advice on what table food to feed Hayden

Shobs-Happy 3 month Birthday to Ajay!

Connie-Oh, poor Danielle having to have a spinal tap at 3 weeks. You must have been a wreck. Why was she hospitalized?

Lynn-You poor thing! I hope that you are feeling better real soon. I'm sending some get well vibes your way. Lexie sounds so cute making raspberries. Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hayden. I hope that Lexie sleeps better for you tonight.

Sonata-Good to hear from you too. I hope that Eray is better soon! I also hope that you make a complete recovery very soon. I'm sending get well vibes your way.

Jenni-Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hayden. Yay for Nick getting a good night sleep! I'm glad to hear that he did not get a cold. I can relate with those crocodile tears. Hayden will start crying when we have family over if I just walk out of the room. Then he cries with his arms out for me to pick him up when I come back into the room.

Laura Ellis-Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hayden. I tried mashed potatoes before and he wasn't too crazy about them. I'll try some mashed carrots. Thanks.

LisaB-Congratulations! You must be so excited that Max is going to have a little brother or sister.

SuziF-I hope that Sam's tummy feels better and that he sleeps better for you. I know about that candle that you are talking about for ear wax. My cousin bought one and put it in her brother's ear to see if it would work. They are adults. It took a while for the candle to burn down and he had to lie on his side very still the whole time. It did work, but I don't think that it would be good for a baby the way they squirm. I wouldn't want a burning candle near Hayden's head.

Chevon-I do let Hayden cry during the day when I put him down for his nap. He usually only does it for 5 minutes or less. Thanks for the info. about table foods. I have also been using the ice cube tray method when I would puree Hayden's foods. I think that I will try some steamed veggies and a piece of bread for his first finger foods. I am so worried about him choking.

Barb-I'm so sorry to heat that Haley will have to have a brace again . I will keep her in my prayers that it will be a very temporary thing.

Leah-I did enjoy the steak. We went to the mall afterwards and it was so weird not having Hayden with us. The dr. said that Hayden's head is growing slowly, but still growing. That he will probably just have a small head. He was given 5 baseball caps and all of them are still too big for him. I guess he will just grow into them. That's great that work is getting better for you.

Suzi-Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hayden. I've tried mashed potatoes mixed with formula and he wasn't too crazy about them. I woke up with a scratchy throat yesterday also and have been popping zinc lozenges to try and fight off a cold.

Chris-I loved your story about Tailer picking her butt.(lol!)

Jayme-Wow, you had to walk 2 miles with your two boys!

Tracy-Happy Belated 10 month Birthday to Zayed!

Welcome Stephanie & Justin!

Martha-I think that we will be lowering the crib again this weekend also. Hayden is also still kneeling, but I'm sure that he will stand when we least expect it,

Cyndi-Hayden says his to his long and lean buddy. It seems that all of the babies that we meet are so much bigger in weight than Hayden. It is a pain with the pants. He seems to be wearing highwaters sometimes. Has Michael ever worn overalls? If they fit in length, they are huge at the top and vice versa. About the blood test, I wasn't aware of it until we were there. They test for anemia and lead. Hayden's friend just had a blood test and they only pricked his finger instead of taking out of his arm.

Stefanie-Hayden also sleeps from 8:30 until 6:30/7a.m. He also wakes up in the night when his gums are bothering him. He doesn't have any teeth yet! I usually put some baby orajel on his pacifier and then rub his back until he falls back asleep. That usually does the trick most of the time.

Kerry-Sorry to hear about your hospital stay. I'm glad that you are doing better now. Daniel sounds like he did great at the dr.

Sorry so long. I miss one day and there were so many posts! Have a good night.

Hello everyone! I wanted to see if anyone has any advice for having two babies in a year. We are expecting number 2 and number 1 is 6 months old. I figure I'm 3 months and the Dr. will do a sonogram in 2 weeks to be sure. I really am starting to get nervous. My daughter is usually such an angel, but lately has been getting up all night long. I am extremly tired and it seems now that I'm pg again she doesn't need any more sleep than 4 hours at night and 2 one hour naps during the day. I tried keeping her up without naps but it does no good. She was sleeping through the night from 2 months until 5 months. I just wondered if anyone knew any other tips to keep her in bed. I tried to let her cry but after 10 minutes I can't stand it anymore. Right now, I would love one nights sleep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi ladies,
hope that you are al well though I do see that alot of you are ill.Hope that you all get better soon.

My mountain of washing is finally going down!!the washer and dryer were on all day yesterday until 11 last night.......yes,it was that bad!

I didn't tell you all that zayed started crawling forwards on christmas eve,so now i have to make sure that the floors are spotless because he goes around inspecting them and if he finds anything he puts it in his mouth!!!Still no teeth yet though, where are they???

I have to go grocery shopping this morning,my fridge is empty and my cupboards are not very well stocked.it seems like feeding the 5000 sometimes i can tell you,Sami(DS) would live on cornlakes and white rice and ketchup if i let him,my children all start out as really good eaters and then as they get older they get fussy!!!

We are hoping to move to our new house at the beginning of march,I can't wait, this has been a long time coming!!!it will mean that we are alot further out from the city and the kids schools but it will be so worth it.

Zayed is still sleeping badly!!What do I do,i let him cry for about 5mins and then pat him back to sleep, even that is an improvment because he before he would only fall asleep whilst BF.he wakes up twice, sometimes 3 times a night,I've got used to it but i would sell my soul to have a full night's sleep!LOL

Hello, everyone. I just discovered this site and am so excited! I am 31 and my first and only daughter Caitlin is now 5 months old. I started reading all of the msges and I am totally hooked. It is comforting to know that there are others that have the same questions & problems. I can't wait to read more, although how do you find the time? Once Cait is down for the nite, I play catch-up on what I didn't finish earlier in the day - sometimes just sleep! I quit my job of 6 years to stay home and I absolutely love spending time with Cait. She changes so much, so quickly! Most of my friends are childless so it seems as if I don't have much in common with them anymore and can't ask any advice. I guess I will stop rattling on - I am sure you can tell how glad I am to have found you. Take care - I am off to grab that precious commodity called sleep.

Hi everyone. I'm done for the week with work! I am so happy my partner and I switched days. Last year I worked Wed-Fri. This year Mon-WEd. In Phx. America West has deals where you leave on Sat. and come back on Mon. or Tues. I did it 5times last year and it made my partner jealous. This year she wanted to be able to take advantage of it but forgot that her child is a complete brat and her family can't stand him. It was one of those situations where I made WEd.-Fri. look really appealing even though I knew the other days were better. What a sucker! I used to do stuff like that all the time with my brother. hehehe! It's so nice to be done for the week! Work is getting much better. I've just accepted that my priorities have changed and I'll do my best while I'm there, but I'm not going beyond the call of duty. The kids are so starved for some sort of education.

I'm so looking forward to 4days with my little guy. It seems like so long since we were together for just a Mommy/Max day. I hope he's in a good mood. He thinks he's talking and it just cracks me up. If you say something to him he'll stop and listen and then scream and gurgle at you. After that he cocks his head to the side and waits for you to answer. It amazes me how smart he is. It's so great to watch how he changes.

Well on to personals and then off to bed for me.
Jayme- What a bummer about your car. I hope the little ones were okay on your walk!

Tracy- Welcome back! Zayed sounds hysterical running into people with the walker. I would love to see pictures!

Tiffanie- Does Zack have a jumpy seat? Max really likes his. I think he just likes seeing things from a different perspective.

Kathie- I'm sure once Max spends more time upright than on the ground or leaning against something it will straighten out. And his head was so perfect after he was born.

Jenni- Did you have problems opening the picture of Max? Nicholas crying must break your heart. I get so scared Max Won't cry that way for me, but will for his sitter, or DH. Silly I know. He is a long little guy!

Laura- At least Corban is sleeping through the night! Hopefully successful naps will be next.

Stephanie- Welcome to you and Justin. Three months early! You must have quite a story. Glad to read Justin is doing well. Since he was early do you look for milestones based on his birthdate or his due date?

Martha- I hate reaching over the side of the crib. I have to move the crib out to tuck blankets around Max. Did you go from the highest level straight to the lowest?

Cyndi- that makes sense about the walker. We don't have one, but we are hopefully getting our excersaucer sometime next week. That also makes sense about them waking up at night. Maybe that's why Max has been up. He's so close to rolling over.

Stefanie- Welcome back. I would guess Julia is teething. does it hurt her when you rub her gums? I hope the sleep fairy comes your way!

Kerry- Daniel must be long. Max weighs 16lbs 11oz, but he's short so he still fits in his 3-6mos clothes. He sure is heavy though!

Charline- Taking blood out of Hayden's arm sounds horrible. A prick on the finger I could handle, but actually drawing blood, YUCK! I can't even watch when they do that to me!

Leisa B- Oh wow! You must be so tired! At least your kids will probably be close to one another!

Shelley- Welcome! It's great here! Where do you live?

Okay, I'm wiped! I'll check on tomorrow, becuase I can! I'm so happy to be home! Hugs!

Hi there, gals- Jayme here-

I baked a pineapple up-side down cake today- yummm!

Today when we were driving DH to work, we had the windows down, and Owen's hair was standing straight up- it was so funny. His hair is so long- I have already cut it, but it sure needs it again.

Tracey- Welcome back- we missed you and Zayed! My 2 year old is our Dennis the Menace!

Tiffanie- I think that the car is trying to get back at us- we still haven't payed for it! (Oops!)

Kathie- WOW! What kind of car is it? This one that keeps breaking is 15 years old but has barely any miles on it considering- about the same as our Civic.

Lynn- GO TAKE A NAP AND GET WELL AGAIN! LOL You just gotta take those naps when you can sometimes!

Jenni- I gained 60 with Ethan that I haven't lost an ounce of! But with the other two it just fell off. The best was when my doctor told me that I didn't need to gain more that 15-20 pounds with Bubby because I didn't need any more maternal fat stores! Thanks a lot!

Stephanie- Welcome to you and Justin!

Martha- We try time-outs first, and then if all else fails, we resort to spanking. Usually with Ethan, all it takes is the threat of a time-out, but now that Bubby knows better, he's been getting his fair shair of time-outs and spankings. He just doesn't listen! Owen, of course, is too young for any of that.

Kerry- I am glad you are feeling better- Daniel is sure getting to be a big boy!

Charline- No problem- that's what we all come here for- let me know as he tries things how they work out. Yup- 2 miles at noon in Hawaii- we are all burnt! Well, at least Ethan was still at school, or I would have had all three, and would've probably had to carry somebody, since it would be really far for a 3 year old.

Tracey again- I would love to see your fatty! LOL Poster and all!

Shelley- Welcome to you and Caitlin- I know how you feel- none of my friends have kids either, and we have lost touch. I guess poopy diaper stories are too much for the childless! Anyway, I have made new friends lately that I have more in common with. It really helps.

Leah- Aside from a little sunburn, it was ok, although my legs were really feeling it afterwards! I guess I need to get off my butt more often!

Good morning ladies and babies:

Just a quick one because I really should be working. Yesterday was a better day except for the naps. We had a busy day running errands and every time Corban would fall asleep we would be at our destination. We did have a good night. He only woke up once and only cried for about 15 minutes. Now for some venting. How come men can only do one thing at a time? Every time DH is watching Corban and he has to get dressed, use the phone, etc he passes him off. If I only did one thing at a time I would never get anything done. Okay I feel better now. Now for a bit of humor. I did spank my older boys and I am sure I will spank Corban only when it is necessary. It is never a first option. With my first one I could say that I was going to count to three and he would say okay and do what he needed to do. My second one would look at me like, "I am so glad that you know how to count!". One time I was trying to get my oldest to do somthing, he was about 3. He did not respond so I said, "Shelby Thomas you come here right now". He knew that he was in trouble looked up at me an innocently said, "I do it myself" and took his hand and "spanked" his bottom. Needles to say I was laughing so hard that he did not get into trouble.

Now a few personals and I am going to have to get to work.

Stephanie - Welcome.

Mary - Another hint for sleep that worked for Corban when he was about 3-4 months. We purchased a vibrator for the bed at Toys R Us. It hooks on the bottom of the mattress and gently shakes the bed and makes a soothing hum. It cuts off after 10-15 minutes.

Kerry - So sorry that you have been so sick. Glad to hear that you are on the mend.

Leisa B - Congrats on the new arrival. My cousin had two boys 11 months apart and said that if you can make it through the first year it is the best way to go. Her two boys have always been so close. I am on my second week of letting Corban (11 months) cry himself to sleep. The first week he cried anywhere from 30-40 minutes with us checking on him every 10-15 minutes. This week it is down to 0-15 minutes. It has been very hard to do and I wish I would have done it when he was younger. For your health and sanity you need rest. I would try the crying method for a couple of weeks and see if it worked. I know that it is hard but it will be worth it.

Shelley - Welcome. It is hard to find time but it is worth it.

Yawn ladies and babies!!

Another restless night. Come on teeth!!!

It was over 70 degrees yesterday, so we included a zoo trip in our schedule. Kat likes the giraffes and the fish best! I get my power walking in, too.

DH is still wanting me tolook at alternatives to leaving. Can't stay here if my son is in MD. Sorry. That's not all, but it's the only one he'll hear. He wants me to make it easier by saying, "I need to go, but I'll be back." I can't say that without feeling like a hypocrite. Sorry again. I'm so physically and emotionally worn out from this. Thanks for listening...*S*

On to personals...

Lynn> when Kat has a night like Lexie did, I start believing the sleep fairy has an evil twin!! I hope it gets better for you. You sure need the rest.

Jenni> Yes DH told me that my step-daughter wanted to move out. I take anything he says with a grain of salt. He colors everything. Heck, I gave him my Thanksgiving itinerary, called or emailed every day, and he still told everyone I probably wasn't coming back!! Anyway, I have an idea how to get through the summer in a very fun way if I can get OK's and make it work. My mom has a house in Florida. She won't be there all summer and may need a caretaker. I can go with Kat and step-daughter, and send for my son. SD and I can work PT, we're 10 minutes from the beach, 1/2 hour from Busch Gardens and a couple of hours from Disney World. SD and Kat can be together until SD goes to college. I'm calling my mom today...wish me luck!!~~~Big hugs to your strong guy!! I know, from working at a preschool, your youngun will put on quite a show of tears for you, then immediately start to play. It sure is hard to leave, seeing those tears, though. hang in there!

Laura> Anything different in the routine can mess up sleep patterns. With anyone "new" around, Kat wants to be awake all the time. they don't want to miss anything!!

Stephanie> Welcome! Congrats on getting through a tough time. My first was a preemie with a heart problem. he's now 9 1/2, outweighs me, gets all A's and is a baseball star!!!

Cyndi> Yes, I've read, and experienced the restlessness at each new stage with my son. Kat's trying to walk, and teethe, I guess, so this shouldn't surprise me.~~~Kat's ped is not concerned about the vegetarianism at all, yet. Mostly because she'll still be mostly nursing at least until age 1. He's less concerned because I've been veg for over 20 years and I've already raised a healthy son. I'm going to wait on tofu until about her 1st b-day, only because soy is not so easy to digest and it's a potential allergin. We'll avoid corn and wheat (except for what's snuck to her!!), PB and honey and dairy, as well. I can't do dairy much, and both my kids picked up on it. So, we'll do rice milks and pick up on soy cheeses later. So far, Kat likes green beans, all squashes, sweet potato, OKRA, apple and pear sauce. I make it all at home. Here's an online veg resource....http://www.vegetarianbaby.com//~~~I'm hooked on Third Watch, but, boy did that last one get me!!

Stefanie> My bet would be on teeth bothering Julia. Or, maybe dehydration, like you said!! LOL I sure hope baby drool makes good wood stain!!

kerry> I hope the infection's cleared up for good! Not fun when you have a sweetie at home you'd rather be with!

Charline> Fight that cold!!

Leisa B> Welcome!! 6 months is possible growth spurt and/or teething time. This could be causing waking. Are you BFing? I don't know, but I've been told that the taste/amount sometimes changes with a pregnancy. It would be enough to upset the norm.

tracy> Yes, the floors have to be spotless!! we have to watch what the dogs "drop," too. Leaves come in with them and can choke little crawling vacuums. Kat picks up pennies, dust bunnies...Good luck!!

Shelley> welcome!!! it's hard when your friends can't understand your new focus. We do, though!! Glad you found us!!

Leah> I like the sound of your work schedule! good for you!!

Jayme> My car is a Toyota tercel. I was so proud of myself all those years ago, getting such a good deal on a NEW car. I'm even more proud now, since it's needed only the normal maintenance. It fits me and my needs. I don't want it to EVER die!! I guess I'd better rethink, though, since I'll have 2 kids to transport in the hot summer. I'll need more space and AC, which this doesn't have. Good luck with your car!!

'til next time!!

Good morning! My SIL had her baby yesterday. I went to see her new son and I said Zack was never that small when in fact, he was. Zack was 6 lbs when he was born and Calvin was 7 lbs 11 oz. I just don't remember him being that small!! Time flies and they grow up fast, don't they?!

Yesterday I had to go into work for a few hours and DH watched the baby. When I left he was saying what he was going to get done while Zack slept. Well, Zack wouldn't sleep hardly at all for him! I was glad because he got a taste of why sometimes I don't get a lot done around here!

Jenni - I wish we were all closer so that we could all have a big get together when all the DHs desert us for work!

Stephanie & Justin - Welcome! :)

Stefanie - congrats on Julia learning to crawl! I'm amazed at how excited I get when Zack learns something new but how a little part of me "dreads" his new mobility! Z is rolling over now all the time, but at least he stays in the general vicinity of where I put him! :)

Kerry - Hope you're feeling better!! So sorry you've been sick!

Tracy - I'd love to see Zayed's pictures!

Shelley & Caitlin - Welcome!

Leah - I've put Zack in his johnny jumper twice but he just sits there and chews on the material. Does Max jump in it yet?

Laura Ellis - I hear you on the Dh -one thing at a time thing!! It's amazing! :) And your Shelby spanking himself sure gave me a smile! :)

Well, better go! Have a great day everyone! :)

Good Morning Mommies and Babies.....WE HAVE SNOW! Yeah!!! It was so hard leaving for work today, when all I wanted to do was bundle up Nicholas and take him out to watch the snow fall. Hopefully it'll keep up until tonight so I can show him myself!

Kerry - Glad your out of the hospital and doing better. Great 4 month check up Daniel.

Charline - Oh, the tears and outstrechted arms are the worsed! I want to cry. Its so hard not to pick him up when he does that.

LeisaB - Hi and Congrats! I only have one, so I don't have any advice, but I'm sure some of our mommies here do.

Tracy - Sorry, I still have the sleep "babe", I clone her for you though :0) I'll work on some new picks of monkey. BTW, send me a poster size of Zayed please

Shelley - Hi and welcome to you and Caitlin. This site is great and so addicting!

Leah - I had no problem opening the pictures, thank you! Max is soooo handsome!

Jayme - You know the rules, you bake, you share LOL Did you have pre-eclampsia with Ethan? I did with Nicholas and am sooo afraid I will with the next one, that it makes me wonder if I really want to get pg again. I can't afford another 50+ pound gain.

Laura - Too cute about Shelby spanking himself.

KathieG - Best of luck to you. I hope you, SD and DS will be in Florida soon. It sounds like a great plan!

Well, thats it for now. Hello to anyone I missed and big hugs and kisses to those little ones

OH Man! I can't believe my little angel is 5 months old today! Sniff, she is growing up so fast! TOO FAST....especially for a fulltime working Mama. Well, at 5 months, she is now a bit over 26 inches tall, 18 pounds, and full of loveys. Her new thing is lip brrrrrs and giving kisses. Now she is not shy either, it is square on the lips...which I really hope she outgrows. She grabs (literally grabs on your face) on both sides or your neck and plants a bit soaking kiss on you. Anybody have any suggestions on sleepers??? I tried the 6-9 month Carters and they seem to fit okay but Anna has some pretty long toes and feet (she is a bit over size 1 already....--cursed with Mama's big feet) and the footies seem to be still small, I don't want to cut them out but she is too small for the extra large carters sleepers....forget the other brands, they are all too short in the torso. The perils of having a 5 month old in 12 month clothes I guess.

Anyway, sorry no time for personals, I ams still trying to catch up from yesterdays posts. Welcome to all the new people and their babies! Big hugs!

Mornin Ladies...just a few quick lines before I go try to find the sleep fairy as I spent the night in the recliner again!
Jayme: My mom's been a consultant for about 2yrs.It seems to vary seasonally, some months she's really busy & others she only does a couple shows.
To you & Kathie both...I have you beat~ my SUV is 21yrs old! ...and it's the newest vehicle we own.
TG it's very reliale due to DH being a gear head. He's in the process of rebuilding a '73.Sometimes you do wonder if you take them far away what happens if you break down & can't get parts. We drove mine to Cinci fm Pittsburgh a bunch of times in '98
My aunt mentioned yesterday she'll give me back the Exersaucer I loaned her for when she had her grandaughter there on vacation. (yeah! I was afraid she wouldn't since cousin just had another baby too & I'm too polite to ask)
Well,I want to try & order one of those vibrating crib thingys before I catch some ZZZ's! Hopefully I'll get back online later.

Good afternoon!!
Whoever sent the snow can call it back now!! I have WAY too much of it already! And its still snowing! The roads look pretty clear, so all I have to worry about are my stairs outside that become treacherous in the snow!!

Lexie slept better last night, thank God! But, not as good as Nick, Jenni! Remember when I was the one bragging about having the sleep fairy?! We are conducting an experiment this weekend... letting her cry when she wakes in the night, or just giving her the binky, not getting her up if at all possible. We'll see how it goes!

Speaking of this weekend.... DH said Sat I can have a mommy day!!! Hes even going to GET UP with Missy in the am and let me sleep!! My mommy day does include getting the house cleaned, so dont be too excited for me! We'll see if it actually happens! :)

My DC (dumb cat!!) had decided that she likes to walk under the swing while Lexie is in it b/c it rubs her.... but it stops the swing!! Argh! She drives me nuts!! Im going to trade her to the chinese resturant for dinner!! Ha ha ha!! J/K!! :)

Well.... here are my personals...

BevB & kyle~~strep sucks, doesnt it?!? I cant wait to go see an ENT!

Shobs~~sorry you still have to deal with those gross coworkers! I remember you telling
about them on PT! I think Lexie had been teething for about 2 months already.... no teeth
yet though!! Shes great, thanks! Shhe will be 5 in 11 days!! She eats cereal: rice, oatmeal,
and rice w/ apples, veggis: green beans, peas, carrots, and for fruit, she has had bananas!
Geeze... no wonder shes almost 14 lbs!! LOL!

Chris~~hoes the toot-n-poop guy?!? LOL! Im still LOL about Tailer! :)

Tracy~~welcome back, you slacker!!! :)

Tiffanie~~yes I am, thanks! I think she is teething.... who knows though! Im pretty
convinced she will have a little toofie soon! :) Hows Zack?? Any new pics??

Kathie~~I hope you can all spend the summer in Florida! can I come?!? I hope everything
works out for you!! I used to feel LD alot, it was alittle uncomfortable too. But Im not
feeling anything now. Ill be moving this summer to a new apartment.... maybe that will cure
me?!?!

Jenni~~alright.... stop your bragging about the sleep fairy!! I dont want to have to go "RR"
on you!!! LOL!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!! :) You are one lucky momma!!! Hey... you can get your
Italian to cook for me too.... what time should I be there?!? Lexie LOVES Face!!! I was
TRYING to nurse her yesterday, and he came on, she stopped, and was mesmerized the whole
time he was on! Then she continued!! Too funny!!! The world stops spinning when face is on!!

Laura~~sometimes I can hear her swallow, but I know shes not getting alot at all. Some is
better than none I guess!! I keep trying! Glad Corban is continuing to improve his sleeping
habits!! :)

Stephanie & Justin~~welcome!! As far as I know, premie babies are "supposed" to be doing
things that they would have done if they were born at term.... what I mean is, if he was
3 mos early, at 3 mos he "should" be doing newborn things.... however, I dont entirely
believe that! Im sure he might develop at a little slower rate, but chances are he is
doing more than a newborn right now, right? Good luck with him!!

Cyndi~~Lexie is formula and solid fed too, so I cant use that method to check how much
BM shes getting! Ive been taking fenugreek for about 6 weeks now, and Im not sure if its
helped at all or not! I miss my leaking days, thats for sure! Is that all youre taking for
it? I take 2 caps 3x's a day, maybe I should try 4??

Stefanie~~Lexie has somehow developed that bad waking in the night for no reason habit! I
just cant figure it out!! Unless its teeth... or a developmental thing like rolling over
that is waking her!

Kerry~~glad yore out of the hospital, and feeling better!!! DAniel is growing well!! The Dr
I saw said to get her out of the waking at night thing too, but he didnt say it very nicely!
(not my regular ped!)

Charline~~I hope you dont get sick, and feel better!!!! Healthy vibes to you!!! Im feeling
a bit better, thx! She is so cute when she does it, she has to really concentrate, and she
puffs her cheeks out! Its too cute!!

LiesaB~~good luck and God bless! You sure will have your hands full! Im sorry I dont have
any advice for you! Welcome to the "gang"!!

Tracy~~yay Zayed for crawling forward!! Um.... Jenni is the one with the sleep fairy!! The
divine Miss Lexie is just that!! (shes asleep! LOL!)

Shelly & Caitlin~~welcome!! What is her DOB? Im wondering how close She and Lexie arein age
Lexie was born on Aug 24th.

Leah~~how lucky you are to be done with your work week! Loved the picture! :)
Enjoy your Mommy & Max day!!

Jayme~~LOL about Owens hair! I wish Lexie HAD some hair! Although, it is starting to fill in
now.... FINALLY!!! BTW.... didnt get the nap... I layed down, and she started talking to me!
Oh well! Better luck next time!

Kathie~~70 degrees?!? I would kill for 70! Where do you live?!? I too am convinced that the
sleep fairy has an evil twin... her name is the sleep BI*!#!!! LOL!!

Tiffanie~~congrats to your SIL!! Isnt it hard to believe they were smaller!?!

Jenni~~we have snow too.... and since you are so excited about it, AND your hogging the
stinkin' sleep fairy, you can have mine!!! LOL!! :)

Jenn~~you made me realize that if Anna is 5 mos today, Lexie will be in 11 days! Boohoo!
Time is going by WAY too fast!!! Yikes! Almost 1/2 a year!! Dont you LOVE the kisses?!? I
absolutely love it when Lexie grabs onto me tight and gives me her little baby kisses!
Slobber and all!! :) I just got 12 mo sleepers for Lexie... they are... "tiny toes". My mom
picked them up at Bradlees... on clearance! 2 bucks each! Woohoo! :)

Suzi~~I hope Sam will let you get some sleep soon! Wow... I remember when Lexie was just 3
weeks old!!

Have a great day!! Hugs and kisses to all!! I will talk to you soon!!!

Love,

Lynn & Lexie.... on her way to 5 months ALREADY!!!

Hi everyone,
Sounds like there are alot of sick and stressed mommies out there. Hope you are all feeling better soon. Thought I'd fill you in on my nine month old daughters sleeping success at bedtime. She went to sleep on the second night after only 5 minutes of crying again. I was so happy. And then last night she only cried for about 2 minutes, I was in disbelief that she could go so fast! I am so scared that this is just a couple of lucky nights and that it will change. I hope it continues. When she was in the swing (lately) it seemed to take her forever to go to sleep, and that was with me singing to her as well. I guess she was getting a little big for the swing and it wasn't going as fast as it used to when she was lighter. Anyway, pray that my luck continues with her falling to sleep in her crib. Thanks for all the tips, you are all great!!!!!

BARB: When I read your story my heart went out to you! I said some prayers for you and your little angel. Hopefully it will be a success and things will be okay after this one. Best wishes and God Bless your baby!

LEAH: Hope your possible breast infection heals soon.

SUZI: Hope your soar throat is better soon! I hate that!

CONNIE: I sure hope your kids are better soon. Good luck.

SHOBS: Hope I spelled that right. Sounds like a gross environment where you work - you must be releived when you get back to the comfort of your home! Sorry you had such a horrible night, hopefully better luck tonight.

LAURA ELLIS: Hope Corban naps ok for you today. I find my daughter gets all messed up when her naps are way off. You really sound stressed, why don't you try my stress reliever: a hot bath with only a couple of candles, relaxing, maybe even soft music if you like. Good luck

STEPHANIE: That was a long time for Justin to be in hospital, you must be delighted to have him home. Good luck.

MARTHA: I done the same thing lowering the crib, made my mind relax more when I wasn't in there.

CYNDI: hope your PPD group was fun

STEPHANIE: I know what you mean about drool, my daughter soaked everything. She had to wear bibs. As for the night time waking, my daughter was on the same schedule and started waking the same way. If it were my guess I would say it is teething. After a few nights like this, my daughter cut her first tooth. Tylenol my help her rest more during bedtime. Hope that tooth shines through soon.

KERRY: Hope your're better soon.

CHARLINE: Hope your cold leaves you quickly and hope Hayden is lucy enough not to get it. As for choking, I am very afraid of that too, but toast seems easy.

LEISA B: Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! Sounds like you are tired though. I wouldn't cut out your daughters naps during daytime, she may get overtired and sleep even less during night, besides, she needs those naps to grow. Do you have a bedtime routine with her? They say having a routine at bedtime gets them used to the idea that it is now time for sleep. good luck!!

SHELLEY: Welcome! This is my third time here and I love it so far too!

Hello Ladies! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! It is a gorgeous sunny day here in the southwest and that is why traffic is terrible! We get thousands and thousands of winter visitors that are known around here as snowbirds. They come here for days such as this.
I'll be glad when it cools down again. I grew up here so I like the cold weather. Danielle caught what Kathy has so she's coughing and congested. It's not that bad right now so I'm just hoping and praying it's not going to get any worse. She is a little fussy because her little bottom is so raw it is almost bleeding. I have some stuff for it from the dr. so hopefully it will clear up quickly. I just hate having to wipe her. I did get some good news as my dh told me that this was probably the last week he will have to work late every night and on the weekends. It will be so nice to have him home in the evenings. It has really had an effect on the kids.

On to the personals:

Jayme-I know what you mean about the car situation. We are down to 1 car and we own 5! My husband can fix just about anything and won't pay
anybody else to do anything. He just doesn't have the time to do it. He says he's going to get his Accord fixed this month so I can have the van back full time so I'm crossing my fingers. A friend of mine once said that she thought God gave us cars to test our patience. I feel that way sometimes! Can we have a piece of cake? That sounds good.
One more thing: We spank also and I can tell you that since Jim has been working so much and hasn't been around to help me, their behavior
has gotten worse. Sometimes I just can't discipline them because I'm busy with the baby and Jim has been getting home too late. I finally decided this week that I would have to be more dilligent to take care of things immediately when it happens and things are already getting better. There comes a time when time outs and withholding privileges don't work.

Tiffanie-I have realized how much I rely on Jim even though he's not around during the days. He helps put the three older kids to bed every night and he always keeps the kids on Sat. so that I can go to yard sales and run errands. I 'm going to try not to take him for granted anymore! I miss my Saturday's! You do forget how little they were. I just recently looked at a picture of Daniell from our vacation to CO and I can't believe how skinny here little thighs were!

Kathie G-They think that Danielle had a viral infection that was made worse by some nose drops that the ped prescribed. She was very congested when she was born and had to be suctioned several times in the hosp. At her two week check-up (just 3 days before she got sick)
I told the ped that she couldn't nurse because she couldn't breath. He told me to give her these nose drops 2x a day. I did so and they worked great. On the third day is when she became cold and lethargic.
When the dr. at the ER did some checking he found out that these drops can cause a baby to go into a coma like state by slowing down their brain activity. They work as a constrictor. Apparently, this is what happened to Danielle as they made her very sleepy and her body slowed down. She didn't eat which made her more lethargic and it just snowballed from there. She probably had the viral infection at her check up, but because she had all the goop in her nose at birth it was misdiagnosed. I hope Florida works out for you if that's what you want to do.

Jenni-Where do you live? Send some snow our way. It's too hot here already! I love the cool weather even though the thousands and thousands of winter visitors we get come for the heat. It's supposed to cool off next week again. I have hope though as it snowed here last Easter morning. I was born here and that's never happed before. It was beautiful to see the snow on the mountains and the cactus.

Jenn-Happy 5 mo. birthday to Jullianna! We've outgrown almost all of our sleepers too. I have to keep getting out boxes of the girls old clothes to find bigger things. The one sleeper that we've gotten the most good out of is a heavy green fuzzy one that doesn't have feet. We started using it when it was way too long and now it fits perfectly. I just keep some heavy socks on her feet. I also get these kind for the older kids because they get so much more wear out of them. They always outgrow the kind with feet so quickly and/or the feet get so worn out.

Suzi-I sympathize with you as I spent the first two months on the sofa with Danielle. I had had a c-section and it was easier to get up and down off the couch. Also it was too hot upstairs for me so we stayed downstairs. Thankfully, my Dh had bought a new leather couch while I
was in the hospital because he knew I wouldn't be able to go up and down the stairs and also that I wouldn't be able to get off of our old couch because it was so broken down!

Lynn-sorry to hear Lexie isn't sleeping very well. I was up late with
Danielle last night as I let her take a long late afternoon nap. It was so nice because the other kids were upstairs watching Arthur and I just didn't want to wake her. I won't do that again!

Stephanie-Welcome to you and Justin. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Cyndi-send some snow my way! We're having a heat wave. It is going to be 80 today when it is usually about 60 this time of year. The winter visitors love it, but being a native, I enjly the cooler weather.

Stefanie-I would guess that maybe Julia's teeth are bothering her. I know that Danielle has been a little crankier than usual and she is chewing on everything. I think she is also going through a growth spurt as she seems a little hungrier. They are about the same age so maybe that's it. When was Julia born? Danielle was born on 5/20/99.

Kerri-Hope you're feeling better. Our thoughts and prayers to you. It's hard being a mommy when you are sick.

Laura-I hope you're keeping your chin up. I had some down days when Jim was unemployed also and I tried not to let him know so that he wouldn't have any added pressure. Just give that little baby lots of hugs and kisses. Children have a way of keeping us focused on what is really important. P.S. I know what you mean about that LOOK kids give you sometimes. It's like they want to test you to see just what they can get away with!

Charline-One Fri. afternoon I couldn't get Danielle to open her eyes for more than a few seconds. She was very lethargic and cold. I could not warm her up and she was limp like a rag doll. You would lift up her arm and it would just plop at her side with no muscle reflex at all. Our ped was out of town and so our only choice was to take her to the ER. When she didn't get any better by Fri night That's what we did. Her temp was only 95 degrees. See above post to Kathie to see outcome.

Tracy-you can come start on my mountain of clothes. I can't believe how many clothes a family of six goes through in two days! I've got mine washed, but it's folding and putting away that gets me.

Shelley-Welcome to you and Caitlin. Welcome to the world of motherhood. I never get caught up and I decided a long time ago that it was more important to get down on the floor and play with my children ( Danielle is my 4th) than it is to have a prefect house. Sometimes I start getting down on myself because the house looks like a hurricane went through it, but the kids don't care about that.

Leah-I hope you enjoy your four days off. I really enjoy the days Jim takes care of Kathy, Stephie, and Matt. Danielle and I have a good time together. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

OMG, I didn't realize how far behind I was. Thanks everyone, for the advice on the walker, I guess I'll continue to use it, since Lizzy seems to have so much fun in hers.

Happy belated 9mos, Hayden

Happy belated 10mos, MerryBeth

Suzi-too cute about the binky thing, Lizzy has done that with me, and it's hysterical!

Jenn-A Metallica onsie! I've gotta tell my DH about that, he's a Metallica fan, and that's something he would do! Happy 5mos Anna!

Hi everyone! Barb here! Thanks to everyone who took the time to write encouraging replies about Haley. To those of you who wrote in gentle tones of reproach, I appreciate that too. Sometimes you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and take stock of all the good things. Haley is such a wonderful baby, and has a sunny personality, so I think she will be a real trooper for this.

The Pediatrician gave me another DR’s name to get a second opinion – not that we doubt Haley’s Orthopedist – just that you really should in a case like this. Haley weighed in at 15 lbs., 13oz and is 26 ½ inches long in the 50th percentile for both. She still has a big round Irish head, and her Ped. and I were laughing about how she was born with a flat head from being smushed up against my liver as a breech baby and how different her head looks now. Haley’s Ped. is 22 weeks PG, and Haley reached out and put her hand on her stomach during her exam – it was so cute – as if to say “I know you are going to have a baby!” We laughed again! Babies are so perceptive! We got a prescription for vitamins too – did anyone else get those at the 6-month check up?

PERSONALS (some may be a bit stale – you guys are hard to keep up with!)

Welcome to all the new Moms & Babies: Chevon, Shelly – who did I miss?

LEAH: Thank you!!!! Were you and your mom breech babies or was just an inherited thing?

SUZI: DH woke up with that sore throat this a.m. too. I had it last week, but it didn’t turn into anything, thank goodness! YAY Jacob for letting mommy sleep!

SHOBS: UUHHGG! What a disgusting man! At my old job we used to have a temporary employee who loved to fart. That on top of the fact that his teeth were rotting out of his mouth and his breath made you want to vomit, I almost forgot about him until you mentioned your co-worker form Hell. Come to think about it I worked with some pretty strange people at that company!

CHRIS: ROTFLOL on pick-my-butt Barbie!!! You are never at a loss for words are you??

JAYME: Your HONDA broke down? That’s unheard of!! My little 1984 hatchback Accord still runs like a champ. DH drives it to work on the days he doesn’t need his pick-up for farm work after work. I have to admit I am a little leery about my Explorer – even if my dad was the previous owner. It’s already had a new transmission put in at 17,000 miles. My Honda & Toyota are great cars – never any major engine repair – just regular maintenance.

TRACY: When Haley gets old enough, I will take the automatic log-in off my computer for Internet access, so if she wants to go on the Internet, it will have to be supervised.

KATHIE: Don’t let anyone talk you into anything you don’t want to do … not that I think you would!

JENNI: Not a real good snow, though! I want those record snowfall amounts! I want enough snow that I get to stay at home and spend the day with Haley!!!!

JENN: Happy 5 months b-day to Anna, the chunky monkey!

LYNN: Send that snow to NJ, ASAP, PDQ!!!

JENN: (Lizzy’s mom) Do we have 2 Jenn’s and a Jenni? HELP! I can’t keep up with it! Is Lizzy eating meats yet? My ped. said to give Haley meat before she’s 8 months old – I was wondering about you ‘since Haley and Lizzy are Birthday-buddies.

Hey, listen guys I stopped putting my email, ‘cause I’ve been getting pornography spam! If you need my email addy – just let me know. I also delete any emails with attachments now – I plan to spend 2000 virus free! Well, my computer does.

Well, I better get – before the boss catches me.

Hugs!!!
