NO. Until a baby can easily move about it is not recommended because the baby can become trapped under the quilt and possibly suffocate. Therefore, I suggest only using the quilt as a cover on the changing table or as a wall hanging away from the baby's crib until the baby is older (about 1 year).
My recommendation comes from experience of coming across this same problem when my first of three children was born.
