Calm a Crying Baby
Expert Q&A
Question:
When is it safe to use a comforter in a baby's crib?
Answer:

We always suggest to our customers that they do not use a comforter in the baby's crib until he/she can roll over well enough so that if they get covered by the comforter during the night they could move well enough to get out from under it. Usually around 1 year to 1 1/2 is old enough. Until then, the waffle-type blankets are best to use because they have tiny holes that allow the baby to breathe if the blanket moves over the baby's face.
