Introduction
Kasie was 5 months old on Christmas Day. She was also 22 weeks old!
Merry (belated) Christmas to everyone!
Kasie had a wonderful Christmas. She got a visit from Santa Claus, which surprised all of us ... knowing what a naughty little girl she was for her first three months of life! But, then again, she has been nothing short of an angel for the past month or so, so I guess she's making up for it!
My brother and his wife came down for the holidays and brought their little boy, Jamie. Jamie is 10 weeks older than Kasie, and they are so cute together! We enjoyed putting them on the floor and letting them play together, although they didn't really care that much! Of course, the first time I put Kasie on the floor next to Jamie, he hit her over the head with one of his toys (not on purpose, of course!). The second time we put them on the floor to play together, Jamie decided to suck on Kasie's toes. Of course, Kasie just sat there ... in fact, I think she liked it (oh, no!). Both my brother and his wife couldn't believe how different Kasie is since they saw her last (she was 10 weeks old then). Back then she was colicky and gassy and miserable most of the time, and so was I. Now she's the happiest little girl on the face of the world and rarely fusses at all. She almost made her little cousin look bad, but that's impossible!
Speaking of little cousins ... Kasie's little cousin had a cold, so now, guess what? Yes, you got it, we ALL have colds. Kasie, Carl, me ... ick. I called Carl today and asked him who I call to let them know I need a sick day. So far, I haven't found anyone to notify. I'm wondering, when do I get a sick day? My mom has informed me ... NEVER!
Christmas was a trip with my family in town. I enjoyed every bit. Of course, with both grandbabies around, grandma and grandpa decided that they could enjoy the grandbabies more if they could FEED them whatever they wanted to! So, every once in a while, I'd catch my dad putting an orange or a strawberry up against Kasie's lips and I'd yell at him and he'd say, "I'm just touching it to her lips!" Well, SO! My parents can't understand WHY in the WORLD we would refuse to give the babies everything our hearts desire. Well, finally after my dad rode my butt for a while about how I should give Kasie Cheerios, and after Carl had already suggested it, I decided (against my better judgement) on Christmas morning to just stick one on her tongue to see what she did with it. I just touched it to the tip of her tongue and she completely gagged on it. I could see the offending Cheerio the entire time, and it stayed right on the tip of her tongue, but my daughter with the oversensitive gag reflex yacked it up in no time, along with her last meal! So, needless to say, I'm trusting my instincts from now on.
I have a million other things to write about, but I'm feeling really icky, and I'm still trying to figure out how to call in sick, so I will write more next week.
Take Care,
Julia and Kasie
