Introduction
The date is really 9/13/04 - close to 2005 and Iparenting STILL has not updated . . .
So where do I start??? Of course I will apologize for the length of time between entries but I really have no good excuse - just super busy. Seems like I am always apologizing these days - to my boss for not being able to keep up my work, to my friends for not returning phone calls, to my husband for not noticing he got a haircut (!) . . . life is busy but WONDERFUL.
First of all my BIG NEWS is that I am PREGNANT!!!! I am 10 weeks already and doing great. We saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks and started telling people around then. I was afraid to tell many people beforehand because my symptoms are SOO different than when I was pregnat with Corenn. First of which I am not vomiting 24/7 Thank God! I do have periods of nausea throughout the day but its manageable. Also I have not been constipated whatsoever, my BB's never got sore (but I had just stopped nursing Corenn 2 months previous to getting PG again so I don't think my boobs actually "shut down" yet) and though I am tired I am not EXHAUSTED like I was with Corenn. My due date is April 12th, 2005 so the new baby and Corenn will be about 19 months apart. I will be 40 when I deliver. Many of you know what we went through to conceive Corenn but this conception was fairly easy so please don't be discouraged if you are over 35. As I have said many times I believe EVERY conception is a miracle itself and feel SOO blessed that God has given us this second miracle. I think Corenn will be a WONDERFUL big sister - she loves other kids and plays with her stuffed animals at home loving and hugging them all the time.
We also have great news about Garry's job! He will for sure lose his job at the end of this month however the new company has offered him a job MAKING MORE MONEY plus he will get a severance from the old job. We feel so blessed and will be able to pay off some debts so that when the new baby is here we can afford the child care costs. I will still need to work part time - its not THAT much money but we are grateful no matter what.
Corenn - she will be 1 in two days and I just love that little girl more every day. She is DEFINATELY more little girl than baby these days. She is wearing 18-24 month clothes and is talking up a storm! She says "mama", "mom", "dad", "daddy", "hey dad", "tickle tickle tickle" (and tickles our bellies), "love you", "good" and the other day she said plain as day "I'm a good girl mom"! Of course she won't repeat it now but she knew what she said because I looked at her and she gave me a big old mischevious grin. She is almost walking but not quite yet but we aren't too worried at this point. She still tolerates her brace very well (had to wear it 24 hours per day now) and I can see that she will have a slight gait to her walk when she does walk but there are worse things. She plays pat-a-cake, dances to any kind of music, hums along with music in the car, waves to everyone she sees and is just generally a delight 24/7. She has her daddy wrapped right around her finger and its so wonderful to see how much they love each other. Sure she loves mommy too and only wants me when she is tired but there is just a special bond between father and child that is so wonderful to see. I grew up without my real father and didn't get along with my stepdad until later in life (he is actually a great guy but I was the typical hormonal teenage girl and too proud to let him in) so its so important to me that they have a close bond.
I've said this before and never get around to it but someday I have to start a babiestoday site for Corenn so you all can see her! She is SOO beautiful - seriously people stop us ALL the time while we are out and tell us so - she has the sweetest round face with dimples and TONS of curly curly brown/red hair. Her eyes are still hazel but may turn completely brown (like her mama's). She has such a sunny disposition and only is crabby when something is wrong. She has 8 teeth with two more top ones coming in right now and eats all "real" foods now. She has one bottle of formula when she gets up in the morning and one after dinner but otherwise she is using only her sippy cup (with whole milk) throughout the day. I think I could easily take the bottle away completely and she wouldn't even care - she has never really had that much of an attachment to it. Now the pacifier is another story . . . the doctor recommends taking that away at one year . . . well considering she is sleeping 9-10 hours every night uninterupted I don't think that will be happening any time soon! She ONLY has it at night but will wake up and put her pacifier in and go right back to sleep so I am thinking she is going to get to keep it at night at least for a few more months. I think its probably important to have it taken away before the new baby gets here because I don't want to have her go through a lot of changes at once yet I am loving my sleep these days (not to mention NEED it) so hopefully the parenting police don't come knocking . .. :-)
Well I need to run. I PROMISE it won't be so long between entries.
Big hugs
Lisa O
