Introduction
Goodbye Everyone!
Yep, this is it!!! Jazmine and I are moving on up to Toddlers Today now that she is the big "one." I hope that all my readers will follow us there. For the next two weeks, Jazmine will be sharing the diary with her big sis Jordan. Then, on October 9, which is Jordan's third birthday, Jordan will move on to Preschoolers Today.
OK, here goes. My look back at the past year, with pictures included.
September 2, 1999 -- The big day finally arrived when we got the long-awaited
call from the hospital to come in to be induced!!! About time, since Jazz
was due on August 18!!! We were eager to see our new daughter, we knew we
were having a girl and had been calling her Jazmine Alyssa for the last
month. We finally got to meet her at 4:37 p.m. If you want to read about my
pregnancy and her birth story, it is at BirthStories.com under Second or More,
Complicated Pregnancy and titled Level 2 ultrasound, External Version, Hard
Pregnancy. We were very nervous to see her and hold her due to all the
complications and dire predictions that we were given to us during my
pregnancy. But, thanks to all of the prayers of family and friends, she was a
perfect, healthy baby.
September 4, 1999 -- We bring our baby home!!! She is loved by many and she loves to be held. She isn't really impressed with her big sister and her kisses.
For the first month poor little Jazz had it tough, she had a bad rash
everywhere and needed oatmeal lotion. She flaked and peeled, had baby acne
and did not do well with the switch to formula from breast milk. It took a few
different kinds to find one that didn't make her have diarrhea. For the first couple of months Jazzie struggled with colic, but she loved being held and rocked. She enjoyed her swing and the little heat packs that
her great-gramma made to put on her tiny tummy to calm it. By the end of three
months, she had gotten much better and had celebrated her first Christmas and
her baptism. She loved the sound of Mommy, Gramma and her godmother's
voices. She learned to roll over and lift herself up on her arms. Her
stomach and skin cleared up and she was much happier. But, she still did not enjoy
her sister that much.
Jazzie enjoyed her Exersaucer and going for walks as she grew older. By the time she was six months old, she was trying to sit up and crawl -- both of which she mastered before the sixth month was up. She wasted no time in learning how to pull herself up on things and creeping along the furniture. She was doing that by the time she was seven months old. She got her first two bottom teeth and was enjoying baby food.
June 2000, nine months old -- Jazmine learns how to walk!!! She loves the
freedom!! She enjoys toddling through the grass after her sister, they become friends and love to play together.
Over the next couple of months, Jazmine got her top two teeth but is still waiting for more!! She learned how to climb onto the couch and the coffee table. She went swimming in the baby pool and the lake and had a blast. She loves the water!! She learned how to say Mama and Dada, wave hello and bye and to clap her hands and dance!!! She is growing up!!!
September 2nd, 2000 -- Jazzie's first birthday!!! Her grandparents came to
celebrate the special day and she loved having them here. She had a party
with family and friends and received lots of wonderful presents. She ate
her birthday cake and loved having that chocolate and frosting smeared all
over her face!!!
Now Jazmine is officially a toddler (even though she is still my baby). She has had an amazing year, and more to come, thanks to everyone that has followed along on our journey. We've made some great friends!!! Hope to see all of you over at Toddlers Today!!! Take care, it's been a fun ride!!!
