Hello to everyone,
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and new year. This was Dylan's first on everything. He really didn't understand anything that was going on around him. He loved playing with the wrapping paper and boxes more than the toys, but he wouldn't be a baby if he didn't.
While we were home, in fact the second day that we were at his Honey and
PaPa's house, he cut his third tooth (next to the left of the bottom
front). He also took five steps on his own, holding onto nothing.
While we were home, the Friday before we left to come back to Georgia, he got sick and I took him to the doctor. He had ear infections in both ears and an upper respiratory infection. He was put on antibiotics and cough medicines. Well, he didn't get better and Logan and I got sick along with him. A few days after we got home, we were all worse, so we went to the doctor's and got all the medications that we needed and here we are six days later and we are finally getting better. For a while there all Dylan did was cry and want to be held, well he's not crying nearly as much as he did, and for the holding thing, that is from going from arm to arm while we were at home and with him being sick didn't help matters. I will work on one thing at a time.
Before we left for the holidays, Dylan was sleeping through the night, but
while at my parents, he quickly got out of that habit. We all shared a
room, and when he woke up crying I didn't want him to wake up his brother
or anyone else in the house, so I quickly took him out of bed and went up
front and put him back to sleep. I did that the whole time that we were
home. So, now that we are back at home, he goes to sleep for about an hour
in his bed and then he wakes up. So, I took him out of his bed the first
few nights that we were home because of him being sick, but now that he is
better, the past two nights I have started my routine of letting him cry. I
don't let him cry longer than 15-20 minutes then I go in and tell him that
I love him, but it is night night time, and I lay him back down. The first
night was a long one, I did this for three hours, then last night, I only
had to do it for an hour. Today, I put him to bed and I let him put himself
to sleep for his nap. I couldn't believe that he only cried for two or
three minutes and then he was out, that was two and a half hours ago, he is
still sleeping. I hope that this works, I would love to go to sleep before
1 or 2 in the morning. I know that it will take time and that he will get
there.
It is just hard to believe that Dylan will be a year old at the end of next month. Where has this past year gone? Time is going by so fast, now I know how my parents must have felt. They are probably thinking the same thing about my sisters and myself.
Dylan, Mommy just wants to tell you that I love you and I can't wait to see what you will do next. Keep up the good work.
The pictures are your 9 month ones. With us going out of town for the holidays and with us being sick, Daddy went and picked up your pictures the other day. You look like a little man.
Until next time ... Mommy loves you!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Jeanelle & Dylan 10 months
