Rena's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

well, I just lost my entire entry so I'm feeling a bit frustrated right now, but maybe it's just as well, since it was a bit on the lengthy side!

It's hard to believe that we are at the end of our BabiesToday journey! This year has been such an astounding mixture of discovery, joy, sheer terror, heartwarming moments, stir craziness in the early months, and the wonder of guiding my little Y2K Milkman through his first year. It's amazing, the stuff he's doing now- the walking, his words (though I am in need of an interpretor!)his zeal and zest for life, and of course sharing the wonder of the bonding between him and Rebecca. I have been so blessed having both these spiritful souls in my life, and wonder daily that I have been entrusted to guide them through this earthly life. Matt has thrilled to the challenge of fatherhood- of course it helped that Rebecca sort of *broke him in*, but he has been so wonderful and supportive, and I am so grateful that he has made it possible for me to stay at home and witness the gentle unfolding of Jeremiah's personality and watch both children blsoom so in this past year. Matt, you are a wonderful daddy!!!

Jeremiah's birthday party was a rousing success! We had a full house of over 30 people on hand; other than a small
food crisis" at the start (at first we weren't going to have enough food, but ended up with way too much)Jeremiah enjoyed the festivities. He did cry a bit when we sang "Happy Birthday" to him, but once he got his chunky hands into his own birthday cake, all bets were off! He actually handled it quite gingerly at first, so we had to egg him on with shouts of "Dig in! That's my boy!" at which he perked up and promptly set upon sheer destruction! He did a great Energizer Bunny thing, going and going until the last guest left at 9pm (the party started at 1), smiley and agreeable to the end.

So that wraps it up for us; I have so appreciated the caring and support I have received from this wonderful cyber community, and I hope that you will all cross over to ToddlersToday with us. Jeremiah has many more wonderful adventures just waiting to unfold!

With much love from Rena and Jeremiah:-)
