Introduction
Bailey now has a new aunt! Little Hannah Elizabeth was born on December 8
and weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 21 inches long. How strange to
think that I have a sister 30 years younger than me! She's a beautiful
little baby, and I'm excited about her. Last week Bailey and I went to
visit my dad, his wife and the baby. Bailey wasn't really interested in
Hannah,; although, she did attempt to "pet" Hannah's head like she does the
cat. I have the feeling that these two little girls will grow up to be good
playmates.
The cold virus has struck us once again. Ugh! It started with me this time: a dry cough accompanied with a massive headache and sinus congestion. I've had it about a week now, and Bailey just contracted it a couple of days ago. Poor little Bailey Bug! She vomited and had diarrhea today along with a slight fever. I called the doctor, but decided to take her in tomorrow instead of getting her out in the cold night air at 10:30 p.m. (it was the soonest they could see her).
Developmentally, nothing new has happened this week. Bailey is getting
around much quicker, and can really maneuver her body better. She is also
much better at balancing herself and is quite close to standing unassisted.
She just started "showing" me things, holding toys up proudly for my
inspection. She also attempts to put her bottle in my mouth sometimes!
Next week we just need to finish up the shopping (for stocking stuffers, etc.), then I intend to bake some goodies like date balls, divinity, fudge, and cookies for the neighbors. Steve's family will be coming in on the 23rd, so the house must be cleaned and guestrooms prepared.
I can't think of anything else this week -- I'm a zombie at the moment because of lack of sleep. My cough kept me up all last night and Bailey kept us up all night the night before last. So now I'm peering over these lovely bags that bedeck my haggard face! My brain is in a state of misty confusion and a numbness has enveloped my body. So on that note, I will bid you all goodnight or good morning, or good whenever-you-read-this!
Till next week, love and hugs to you all!
