Robin G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 11, 2000

Bailey is almost 8 months old!!!

The bug now moves about the house in a frenzy, wrecking havoc wherever she goes! She's been mobile now for the last two weeks, which is the reason I haven't had the time to post an entry. Chasing Bailey, along with all the other things I am doing, leaves little time for anything else.

Bailey in the bath.The Mover
Yes, my little one is now crawling and pulling all the way up on anything that she can find. It started with some wobbly moves taking her a foot or two to grab a nearby toy. Now she ventures across the room to her FAVORITE thing: the Christmas tree. I'm not so lucky to have one of those babies who avoid the tree. It's a magnet to Bailey! She shimmies that little diapered bottom over to the sparkling, fascinating wonder of a tree and then proceeds to snatch limbs and pull ornaments until her attention is captured by the colorful presents underneath. Then she quickly snatches bows off of as many gifts as she can before her mommy or daddy scoops her up with a swift, "No!" She crawls from room to room; she pulls things apart with casual abandon while squealing with delight. The bug LOVES her newfound freedom! I have to admit that I'm thrilled for her; it's wonderful to see her so happy. Yet, I'm sooooo exhausted.

Many Sleepless Nights!
OK, not completely sleepless, but Bailey is so excited about her crawling accomplishments that she can't seem to sleep well. She wakes up, sometimes several times, in the night and pulls to standing in her crib then screams for someone to come and save her. Often when I put her down for a nap, she immediately maneuvers herself into a sitting position and stares at me with this quizzical expression, "Sleep, Mommy? You MUST be kidding!" she seems to say.

Robin and Bailey.Playgroup
Last week I hosted a playgroup with some moms in the area. We had a good showing: seven moms and nine kids! We had such fun, so I've decided to organize the playgroup formally starting in the new year.

So, with all the shopping, wrapping gifts, going to parties, decorating, etc. we have been REALLY busy. I love it! Speaking of being busy, I must run. So much to do, so little time! I've enclosed a cute picture in this entry of Bailey taking a bath. Enjoy the Holidays everyone!

Hugs,

Robin & Bailey
