Kyle is going to be 11 months in a couple of weeks and Randy and I were marveling about how fast he has grown. He has picked up a couple of new tricks this past week. He now can grab an object in each hand and bang them together. He can also pull himself up to a kneeling position and stay like that for a few minutes. He looks so proud of himself when he does it and gives us a huge grin.
I took him in for his 9 month checkup this past week. It's a late checkup but the doctor said it was fine. Everything went great and we got his second hepatitis immunization. The doctor discussed with me getting the pneumococcal vaccine for him but I declined. It's just that the vaccine is so new that the side effects aren't widely known yet.
Randy has started standing duty on the submarine every third day now. Standing duty entails that he spend the night on the sub. It feels strange not having him home during those nights but I know that it's time to get used to it again. He will be deployed soon.
Just a side note here about the election mess that is going on right now. (By the time this is up, I hope the whole thing is resolved.) With a spouse in the military, I think that the tossing of absentee ballots in Florida is really deplorable. It's just so hypocritical that the Democrats in that county keep bringing up that all the people's votes should be heard, yet not the men and women who are serving our country overseas. It really is sad to see this. The military people work so hard to keep our country free, and to be treated like that is just plain wrong! That's my opinion anyway ...
Well, Kyle is starting to want some attention. His teething has gotten a little worse and I'm expecting those two top teeth to pop out anytime. The pregnancy is going well and I'm in my 16th week now. Still don't feel the little one moving around yet but am looking forward to it. Also met some people who have children who have told me that the age spread I will have between Kyle and our little one is a great age spread. They will be able to play with one another and will more than likely be close. I hope this will be the case.
Take care everyone. Until next week ...
