Hello all !
First I want to say how sorry I am for not updating sooner but I have been crazy busy!
Gabi is doing wonderfully! She is running around now and loves to blow kisses and give real pucker up kisses to us. It is so adorable, we wheel thru the shopping center and she blows kisses to everybody like a princess. Gabi is just SO much fun right now. She is learning and studing new things and it's fasinating to watch her. I got her the Little Peoples Barn last weekend and it has become quite a HIT. She alos LOVES to be pushed around on her tricycle- she says varoom varoom the whole time you push her around- TOO CUTE. She is starting to talk a little. She know says Mama Dad, dog, baboom (for balllon), and signs for all done, and does a whole lot of pointing for what she wants. She has a big understanding of what your saying to her, she just doesn't say a whole lot right now.
What's with this iparenting water? everybody seems to be getting pregnant . Including ME ! OK, so we planned to get pregnant, but we were SHOCKED to find out yesterday that we are having TWINS !!! I'm suprised, thrilled and very scared, all at the same time. I also feel a bit guilty, because I hope this doesn't take too much attention from Gabi- I want to always know she is loved and cherished just as much as any other baby/ies.
I am now 9 weeks pregnant- Due June 28th, 2003. I went in for my regular new OB appointment yesterday and my doctor felt I was measuring a little on the large side so she did an ultrasound. You can imagine our shock when we saw 2 beating hearts staring back at us! Neil and I could just sit there and stare for a few moments in total disbelief. Even my doctor- who has twins herself- was stunned. It's definitly happy news but it will take a while to get used to. God doesn't give you more than you can handle right??? Anyway, now knowing that we are having twins, it answers a lot of questions as to why I have been so sick and run down to this point. They gave me extra iron to hopefully remedy that for a while and now I'm being sent to a perinatologist for a higher definition scan to take a better look at things. They know the babies have different sacs but think they share a placenta- probably identical twins.
We just have the stressed heaped on us this week. We bought a new house on Sunday of last week and put our house on the market- sold it the same day. Now we are doing inspections and all that stuff.
We have a lot of traveling to be doing over the next few days for the holidays- in which we are going to share our pregnancy news with everybody- boy will they be suprised!
We also have more specialist appointmnets for Gabi to be seen about her urinary reflux. She has Grade 2/3 reflux because her uriters are too short. She has a 40% chance of outgrowing it- please prey she does- otherwise she'll need surgery to correct it. Right now she is on a profalactic antibiotic to help prevent reoccurant UTI's and has to go for a renal scan to rule out kidney scarring. Please keep her in your prayers girls, it scares me to death to think she may have to have surgery. It also kills me to have to put her through these tests but it's a neccessary evil.
Gabi is no longer breastfeeding. She weaned herself on the first of November. I miss our special time we had together but I guess the pregnancy hormones changed the milk flavor to her dislike. I have really been making an effort to sit with her and have a different kind of special quite time with her. I am so glad that she was able to have the benefit of 14 months of breastmilk- I really believe it gave her the best start possible...
Well that's it for now!
Belly rubs and baby hugs to everyone !
Sheryl and Gabi
