Why are the Holidays so difficult?

November 15, 2006

So here come the Holidays and with it comes a lot of heart ache. We are suppose to spend time with my Dh's family for Thanksgiving. Well that leaves Christmas season for my family. Both sets of our parents live almost four hours away down further south. Christmas this year is on a Monday and my husband has to work Tuesday so we aren't traveling (let alone with three kids under the age of four) anywhere during that time. Well as usual my mother has to have her two cents put into it and is wondering where there Holiday is. Ok first of all, once you have a family, it becomes your holiday. I think it was nice of us to offer coming the weekend before Christmas. Boy was I wrong, again. Needless to say my mother isn't happy and once again I'm dreading the Holidays. Shouldn't have to be like this. Such a bummer. :(

Anyway enough of my vent, on to Megan the every growing baby. She went to the doctor yesterday for her one month check-up and she is a WHOPPING 11 pounds. Whew!!! Not bad for a breastfed baby. She has grown 2 inches in a month also. I'm so proud. Although she still is having the problems with gas every now and then but I think by me cutting dairy and chocolate out of my diet, it will fix the problem.

Kaitlyn went for her two year old visit yesterday also and was 33.25 inches tall. She's a shorty but so am I, so that's ok. She is really starting to look like a little girl. I'm gearing up to celebrate her birthday on Monday. I think she wants cookies instead of a cake, but I'll probably make both.

Well the baby is awake and so ends my time.

Thanks for reading.

God Bless

Bridget, Dylan, Kaitlyn, and Megan
