The economy is sure to make many families cut items off their holiday list. "With

Dion McInnis, a photographer (www.dionmcinnis.com) in League City, Texas, and author of Listen to Life: Wisdom in Life's Stories (Xlibris, 2005), says there are basically two aspects of a professional's portraits that stand out: lighting and expression. "An old saw in the portrait marketing business is 'ESP: Expression Sells Portraits,'" he says. "So if you want your images to look professional, pay attention to the lighting and the expression."
So true about taking your own holiday photos this year. We've been doing this, however, for a long time now. I don't see the point in spending that much money when a friend can do it for free.
Great idea to photograph babies in the buff for the holiday photo. I usually am out hunting for an outfit that costs entirely too much and is only worn once. This year, going to try no outfit and maybe just a red bow in the hair.
