A word-of-mouth recommendation from another parent who was thrilled with a photographer's work goes a long way. But if you don't have anyone to ask, try searching online. Doing a search for "child photographer" in your area will usually pull up several options. In addition, viewing a photographer's Web site also will give you a chance to see examples of their work.
