Common Childproofing OversightsIf anyone ever deserved a break, it has to be new mothers across the country. The vast majority of mothers – new and seasoned – out there have a plate full of responsibilities. Whether working outside the home or making motherhood their main focus, they are sure to have busy days every day. While that may be good for keeping busy and staying active, it can sometimes send your mind in a hundred different directions at once.

The problem with this is that it increases your chances of not doing everything the way you'd like to, because your attention has been so divided. Even the most cautious of moms can make common mistakes with their small children. Understanding what some of those mistakes are, how it happens and what to do about it makes all the difference.

Holding a baby while cooking, keeping the thermostat set too high and leaving chemicals in the reach of children can all cause burn injuries.

Common Oversights
Most moms (and dads, too) have made simple mistakes when it comes to taking care of the kids. While our intentions are good, we sometimes get caught up in what we are doing, or simply let our guard down. Doing this puts us at an increased risk for something dangerous to happen, even if we normally do everything we can to avoid such situations. Some of these things surprise people as being mistakes, because they don't even realize they shouldn't be doing them.
