Protecting Tiny Holiday Helpers
Tips for a Safe and Fun Christmas Morning with Baby
By Renee Roberson
Studio settings can be overwhelming, especially since photographers often tend to overbook during peak times, which can result in long waits. The same goes for that cute photo op of baby's first encounter with Santa.
"Take cues from the baby," Graham says. "If she's fussy or freaked out seeing a giant red-suited man with a crazy beard then wait until next year or take her someplace there isn't a two-hour line to sit on his lap."
Luckily, there are many options for parents who don't want to go the studio route. Online photo services such as Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery and Snapfish all offer holiday greeting card options, so you can turn your tree decorating session into cute photo cards or stage your own photos on your own time. Christmas morning photos of your baby in holiday pajamas can be just as cute as those in fancy clothes in a portrait studio.
Images from digital cameras can be quickly downloaded, ordered and delivered all within a matter of days. Many photography businesses also offer the option of staging the photo shoot at your own home so you can work around your family's schedule and have the photos taken in an environment familiar to your little one.
