Also, don't feel like you have to feed your baby jars of baby food from the grocery shelf. You can steam and puree vegetables at home and then freeze it in ice cube trays for when you need it, or use a baby food mill to grind up some of your dinner for baby. This will give your little one a taste of what the rest of the family is eating. Just be mindful of cleanliness and freeze unused portions to cut down on bacteria growth.

5. My baby is a picky eater.
When your baby starts eating table food, he will likely begin to show some preference for particular foods. At this age, when formula or breast milk intake starts to decrease and babies rely more on table foods for nutrition, parents often get concerned that their little one isn't eating a balanced diet. The key is to respect their preferences and offer a variety of healthy foods at each meal. And if your little one refuses a particular food, don't feel the need to replace it.

"When you substitute a food that your baby refuses to eat, you reinforce in their mind that there is something wrong with that food," Meyer says. Your job is to put the healthy food in front of your baby, and over the course of the day, your baby will get a balanced diet.

Proper nutrition is vital for your baby's growth and development. But that doesn't mean you should panic when your baby has feeding issues. Talk to your child's pediatrician about your concerns, and realize that most feeding issues have solutions.
