Chiropractic Care for Babies

Ensuring Your Baby's Optimum Development

What conditions is chiropractic care recommended to treat?
The treatment of disease and conditions is the practice of medicine. An important distinction to be aware of is the difference between curing and healing. While we have been taught that if we have a health problem, we must receive a diagnosis and treatment in order to hopefully be cured. The chiropractic approach is a more holistic approach to healing. Healing is the ability for the body to adapt to its changing environment and thrive. Healing can take place whether symptoms are present or not. The focus is on allowing for maximum development and regulation of normal body functions. Disease is the inability for a body to adapt to its environment, resulting in breakdown and symptoms.

There is research that suggests that the use of chiropractic care has demonstrated improvements in some cases of ADD/ADHD, asthma, back pain, birthing injuries, cerebral palsy, diabetes, down syndrome, hypertension, indigestion, infantile colic, muscular dystrophy, prenatal complications and many others. (Please note: This is not a claim to treat or cure any of these conditions.)

How do I find a chiropractor for my baby?
There are several ways to find a chiropractor for your baby. The best way to find one is to ask other parents you know who bring their children to chiropractors for a referral. You can also contact the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association
