11 Inexpensive Costumes
for Frugal Moms

9. Cow
Take a white sweat suit or sleeper and paint on cow spots with black fabric paint. Cut out cow ears from fabric or construction paper and attach them to a headband. A short piece of rope with a frayed end can be attached to the back for a tail. You could even add a cow bell to the neckline.

10. Fisherman
A little pair of jeans and a flannel shirt can be the basis of this costume. Add a floppy hat to which you've attached fishing items such as bobbers, rubber worms or bugs, etc. (no hooks!). Make a mini fishing pole with dowel, and attach a short line (not long enough to wrap around Baby's neck). You can hang a paper fish cutout (print two copies of a fish picture, staple three sides, stuff with cotton balls and seal with staples to make it 3D) or even a small stuffed fish from the end of the line.

11. Tree with Pile of Leaves
Hot glue lots of leaves cut from fabric to a blanket sleeper and hat (brown or orange would work). Tape more fake leaves to Baby's stroller. That's your pile of autumn leaves. Now Mom or Dad can dress like a tree in brown clothes with a few more fake leaves and odd bits of bark attached.
