Comforting Baby during a Cold or Flu

Dawn McBain, a mother of four from Clifton Park, N.Y., remembers one frightening incident with her then 15-month-old baby. What began as an ear infection and a stomach virus soon morphed into something far more frightening.
"At first, I worried that she wasn't holding down the antibiotic, and then I worried that she couldn't hold down anything," says McBain. "Her skin burned with fever, and the Tylenol didn't stay in her long enough to take effect. Ellie's sunken eyes and dry diapers first alerted me that she might be dehydrated, but it was her lethargy that frightened me the most. Ellie was an active toddler. But the sicker she got, the more lethargic she got."
McBain took her to the local urgent care who told her to take the child to the hospital. They ended up admitting
