Winter Babies!
What Works Best for Bundling Baby
By Belinda Clarke
The snowsuits and snow pants even have what the company calls "grow cuffs," which are seams you can easily remove to lengthen the legs as your baby or toddler grows. The Little Matterhorn snowsuits are made with a special "ripstop" construction that prevents tearing and are also coated to repel water and block the wind. Inside, the snowsuits are lined with what Columbia calls MTR (Maximum Thermal Retention) fleece that dries quickly and resists pilling. And if you don't need a full snowsuit, you can buy the snowpants and parka as separates in the same materials.
For new babies, Columbia also offers a variety of fleece Snowtop Bunting™ suits that are constructed of the same MTR fleece. These ultra-thick suits cover Baby's hands, feet and hold up better in the washer than any fleece I've seen. Though more expensive than other "baby" brands, if you plan to have your baby out and about in the cold and snow, Columbia is the right choice. For more information, log on to www.columbia.com.
Cozy Clothes for Bedtime
If you're like many new moms in winter, there will be some days when staying inside is the order of the day. This might mean a day spent in pajamas (for both Mom and Baby!), and what is cozier than fleece?
Having sampled dozens of baby sleepers, I have found that Carter's offers a lot of great options that are really affordable – and adorable.
