Sleep Is on the Way!
Products to Help New Parents Make It to Dreamland
By Suzy Feine
The word "pampering" probably conjures up dreams of destination spas, a weekend at a bed and breakfast or the luxury of a massage, pedicure or other decadent service. But sleep? Isn't that a necessity and not a luxury? New parents may disagree.
For many new parents, getting a full 40 winks becomes a luxury. When Lisa Hadlock, of Mt. Airy, Ga., became a new parent, a good night's sleep quickly became a distant memory. "I never worked so hard or worried so much until my first was born," says Hadlock. "I couldn't turn my mind off, not even at night. I wanted the very best for her, and after a busy day, nighttime seemed to be the only time I could think about how to help her or make a better life for her or what I needed to do the next day for her."
Since then, Hadlock has had three children and has suffered from insomnia for almost seven years. She's tried everything imaginable, from warm milk to prescription drugs, with little success.
Developed by two Arizona physicians, MiracleSleep is the first all-natural sleeping system of its kind that combines an herbal spray with a relaxation CD. "The relaxation CD uses imagery to help someone visualize themselves on a relaxing beach listening to ocean waves and slowly focusing on unwinding, while the all-natural spray works in their system to soothe them," says Louis Silberman, co-founder of the MiracleSleep system. "MiracleSleep is especially beneficial to new parents because they are consumed by all the changes in their lives that lead to anxiety and stress."
Hadlock discovered the system and uses it often when insomnia strikes. "MiracleSleep has helped me to relax and put my mind in the state it needs to be in so I can fall asleep," she says.
